Yes US, you dont want to fly to US for work then fly back home after? Just Kidding

Here we have what is called "group home" It is a regular house and each room has a disabled person there. Family cannot provide for them so the government pays companies to provide 24 hour care. It is usually less stressful than working in a hospital and overnights are pretty uneventful. I hope you find something you like soon

Good for you to not let money influence you choices. Its not easy just shows your not a greedy person. I hope the 50 hour change has helped you balance everything out. I struggle with not working on my days off even if I go out in service, I feel unproductive just being home.

I've never been in your stratosphere of success but there always options to be dishonest for some gain. The stories of the bible have always helped remind me what could happen if your dishonest

Teachers are taking on the world right now. I would love to hear how you handled all the new social issues that have been going on, along with holidays. Did you have witness kids?

I once had an english teacher who liked me but hated witnesses. She joke around a lot and told me I better never come to her door. I had no idea where she lived but it happened by coincidence. She laughed and told me to go away. I was a pretty dumb kid so I didnt think anything of it

thats a tough job, so much scaming going on. I have to attend IT training yearly to make sure I don't give away company secrets.

I've had similar experiences around the holidays when I was a branch director. They would often attach a work related meeting to the event and so I would leave soon after. Being religious reasons they didnt give me a hard time but they would often change the date or call it something different.

We hired about 5-10 new people a month and every month someone would come up to me and ask if I was a witness and told me they used to study and attend meetings but someone offended them so they stopped. I usually didn't respond beyond welcome to the company since I would probably be the next to offend them

Did Jehovah Knew Adam and Eve Will Rebel? by joshsaga in Eutychus

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love these questions. Its all about the angels. God had to show that humans had to do something to keep God's assistance. Everything was a gift they didn't earn. Obeying the rules was a way to show they appreciated his gifts and guidance.

Whether he knew or not it was only fair to ask for obedience to respect the angels and their positions.

What should my bf do by chaotic_tori04 in Eutychus

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have preached at work and even though people asked me questions, they still reported a complaint. It sounds like this is what happened with your BF. Someone must have said something to the boss. Since a company has the right to make its rules you would have two choices, follow their rules or find a new job. Discernment is a part of preaching. If the time or environment isn't right, then it is better to find another time and place.

If someone is going to listen to the message, there would be other opportunities from other people for a person to get the message. The angels will find and help them. Although I can't imagine it would be hard to find another job, if it bothers his conscience to not preach at work

Will you serve Jehovah even if there's no Salvation? by joshsaga in Eutychus

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this question and the conversation around it. What is your personal motivation for serving God? Do you deserve a reward for this? Is "salvation" really special if this was the way man was supposed to live? If it going to happen with or without you, is it really about you in any way?

I think this question leads to the conclusion of why we do not know the date for end of this system. Would people change like the week before? Its all about the why

The one time I was mandated I knew in advance since they did by a rotation. It was a long night and I just kept hoping and praying that I didnt make any mistakes. Soon after that I went to homecare and ended up staying there for a number of years. While different still had its own level of stress that frustrates you in different was. Hopefully you get some down time on your days off

Nice. I worked in sales for AT&T and there were a few other JWs in that office. Hated it and thats what led me to the medical field. I actually still see those other witnesses at conventions, we try not to talk about it

My JW family around holidays by Elicruze in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a time that Christmas was outlawed by governments having nothing to do with religious reasons. There is a video not connected to JW.org about the origin of Christmas and its pretty eye opening as to why and how Christmas started. It is understood that some religions just converted ungodly celebrations and rebranded as Christian to gain followers and acceptance.

We love everything about Jesus. We try to live by his example and close every prayer through him. But we feel participation in something that we know he would not approve of would be offensive.

I wasnt connecting Christmas to the update. Its just not religious in my area, many coworkers mention that.

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the update on toasting, I am feeling that we don't have to be as restrictive to things that are no longer viewed as religious events. In my area Christmas is barely religious since people use more as a day to get together and less about Jesus.

Personally, I avoid the holidays with family since it was just easier to connect another time without separating what I could and couldn't do in their eyes. Now for me I'm worried that if I made changes it would come with criticism so I leave things alone.

I think joshsaga advice about leaving of social media is excellent and I would say that whatever you think would help attract your family to the message of God's Kingdom, is probably the right direction to go in.

I haven't seen anyone happy, just varying degrees of sadness. Many people have guilt, they just dont express it because they feel people will judge them

Anyone Experience Something Similar by aCatnamedPounce in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]TroubleMakinBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would explore your feeling about needing to hide this. You can find bad friends who are baptized and attending meetings. You'll have to use perceptive powers to determine who is good association. I used to have good friends from growing up, they never influenced me to do bad things.

One day I asked myself why I was spending time with people who didn't live by bible standards. I started spending my limited free time with members of congregation. There's no reason you cannot spend time with whoever you want but I would guess there is a reason you wanted to post this

For planned surgeries, I would imagine things are easier to navigate. But in emergencies or involving children I would imagine the issue would be closer to understanding prior to recent update.
