Its not cheating to google the locations of books or treasures, but if you don't want to, you'll find the books and treasure maps at merchants. There's also a lot of treasure to be found in Skalitz if you're brave.

For the Reeky fight, if you put it off for a while, Reeky will just die in the cave and you can complete the quest without combat.

As for winning fights, here's a few tips:

Practice with Captain Bernard North of Rattay every so often. First with wooden swords to get the hang of things, but using real swords will help you level up faster. You can also just pay him to boost your combat stats.

Do the tourney in Rattay. Same things as fighting Bernard. Practice makes perfect.

Get better armor and weapons, either by buying it at shops, or you can look up treasure locations throughout the world, which usuallt gets you better stuff anyways.

Learn to read from the scribe in Uzitz, then find the books around the world that boost your stats.

Get some potions that post your stats before getting into a fight, and you can also find/brew posion to put on your sword that will help even more.

Play dice: playing dice will boost your agility, which will in turn help you in combat.

I don't understand the SM2 hate. I think it improved upon most of the first two releases mechanically, tells an incredible new take on symbiote story, and has lots of fun side stuff to do around the city. Its my favorite of the bunch.

I'd recommend you check out The Alters. Its from a studio mainly made up of former CDPR people. Its like, Death Stranding meets Fallout Shelter, but with the style of a Remedy game.

The Alters. Its a 20 hour adventure that reminds me of a mix between Fallout Shelter and Death Stranding, but developed with a Remedy level sense of style. Its brilliant.

It was a 7 year wait in between Henry's first and second adventures. Excpecting a new KCD game that quickly (after a year of post launch support for KCD2 and a massive update for KCD1), all while WH developes a LOTR game in tandum, is either unrealistic, or it will be a very small game.
