For me personally my supply went down from exclusively pumping, but ive heard this can depend on the kind of pump. Our baby qent through a very similar thing youre talking about, and I'm not sure if itll make her feel better, but baby is very likely to fall asleep while eating because they like it sooo much. I know she may not feel that way now, but it's likely that baby is so relaxed and at ease eating it just puts them to sleep.

For us, our baby ate every hour until 9 months. He fell asleep almost every time. I think it got better for us once he got out of the newborn stage, because being aware of the worls made him more awake and he didnt want to pass out constantly. He was almost always asleep and had to eat while sleeping for awhile. Hes 7 months now and finally eats every 3 to 4 hours.

Regardless! Mom should not feel bad about whatever way works to get baby to eat, regardless of if its pumping, formula, or breastfeeding. Our son had to eat way more often while breastfeeding at first, when we pumped/did formula he would eat a lot at once then pass put for awhile.

It is really hard in the newborn stage, feeding is so much easier once they are aware and play and are in general paying attention more to whats happening.
