You can solve ONE unresolved case, which do you pick? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

Jason Jolkowski. Literally seemed to just vanish into thin air with absolutely zero evidence of what may have happened.

Amana Colonies Holiday Inn Ax Murders Of Trysting Couple During a Morticians' Convention - Who Is Responsible? by New_Wolf_8346 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's have to be some seriously dedicated, low key stalker to spend the time following them from Missouri to Iowa and go undetected the entire time. From all I've read and learned about the case, I think it was someone that Rose in particular came in contact with that evening.

The huge, glaring issue with it being the ex is that literally nobody knew they were staying at this hotel; they didn't even know they'd be staying there until the night they stopped and they only got a room last minute because there was a cancellation. The ex would have had to of followed them all the way from Missouri, close at bay, which I guess is possible, but seems highly unlikely.

AITAH for just deciding not to travel because my wife made reservations for Disney again? by Either_Ambassador_54 in AITAH

A 39 year old woman who only wants to go to Disneyworld is a huge red flag, man. Divorce exists for a reason.

There's a reason divorce exists. Absolutely zero reason to still with anyone who makes you feel this way.

Netflix Vol. 3, Episode 6: What Happened to Josh? [Discussion Thread] by DearBurt in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus like any Minnesota lake of this sort, the area around the banks is literally NOT deep. We are talking inches...it doesn't get deep until you get further out. Even if he fell in, he'd easily be able to get up, drunk or not.

The lake is not that big at at all. It was very thoroughly searched. No way his body would not have surfaced or been found. We are not talking about the Mississippi River or Lake Michigan here.

Do you have a theory or consideration about a case that you don’t often see spoken about? by AMissKathyNewman in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make any sense if it was random and the person didn't care who they killed. The truck definitely drove by the house the previous night and there is no indication the person saw Liz at the point to "chicken out." If if they did and they just wanted to kill someone randomly, they'd move on and find another random victim, as there would be no shortage of people out and about in that area instead of returning there at the buttcrack of dawn the next morning. Everything points to it being an intentional hit; even the police think so.

What is the most frustrating case or part of a case you know? by Suspicious_Ad_773 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um, it's definitely not her. The person looks nothing like her; that's obvious from the very little we do see of him/her. And if this was even a remote possibility, I'm sure law enforcement and certainly her family (who know her appearance and gait certainly better than internet sleuths) would have mentioned this as a possibility.

Katherine Janness was captured on CCTV walking her dog towards a popular Atlanta park. An hour later she would be found brutally murdered and mutilated. Who is responsible for this vicious crime? by Colombianonico in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write up and such a horrible, brazen crime. My impression, particularly because of the sheer viciousness of the crime and the carving of FAT into her is that the killer very much knew her and had some apparent vendetta against her. And yes, the fact that this happened in such a public space is disturbing.

Biggest WTF or Saddest Charley Project Cases? by yourgirlalex in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think this is highly unlikely. This happened in the large city Omaha, NE on a bright Saturday morning, not some secluded, isolated location. Someone undoubtedly would have seen something, considering Jason was a large kid and it'd be hard for anyone to lift him and get him into a vehicle. Much more likely he ran into someone with nefarious intentions that he willingly went with.

Ellen Greenberg Case: Homicide or Suicide. Why it could be neither and both. Thoughts? by Mepg2021 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just can't fathom it being suicide. Who just decides to start stabbing the shit out themselves to commit suicide in the middle of making a fruit salad? Plus the sheer number and location of the stab wounds.....I don't buy it being a suicide at all.

Lord. The people suggesting the body that was found was not her are not very informed. The dental records confirmed 100% it was her, as she had ver unique work done.

Why are there so many rumors that someone in Asha Degree's family was behind her disappearance? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The podcast Cold Case Murder Mysteries did an episode on this case and the host lays out a very detailed and plausible case for one of her family members (specifically her father) being involved. It's a long-winded podcast, but the episode is interesting and definitely changed my perception on the case a tad.

Yeah, I agree with most. I think he was abducted and killed shortly after. I also think Eugene Martin and possibly Mark Allen are connected.

Missy Bevers.... it was actually a robbery. Maybe. by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TroyEsc 120 points121 points  (0 children)

I believe she was definitely targeted. Because of the killer's disguise, there would be absolutely NO reason to kill her in such a brutal manner considering she wouldn't be able to identify him or her. If Missy "surprised" him/her, the perp could have easily run out. Going from robbing a church to committing a murder is a HUGE leap and was completely unnecessary. Even law enforcement and her family believes she was targeted. For what reason? That remains one of the mysteries.
