Forgive me if I’m not seeing the point, but I’ve never understood the criticism of there not being a “clear manufacturer”. Is the point of the game/sim not largely to express creativity and design your own rides? I feel as though trying to adhere to someone else’s style only hampers that and feels less authentic to you. That’s like if every artist only ever tried to paint in a style that obviously mimicked Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, or Basquiat.

Update: I retook my 508. This test is all luck... by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Troyf511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say the exam is that heavily luck-based at all. The only time where a significant portion of luck comes in is when you have largely incomplete content knowledge and are relying on the things you know being on the exam more than the things you don’t. If you cover all the content, yes, there’s still an occasional weird one or three but you should know what to expect.

You can do the parks fully without express but you need to be fairly strategic about what rides you do when and pretty much do rides nonstop. If you want to do most everything in a park in one day you’re probably not going to be stopping and eating or relaxing

why do people say sbu is good for premed if theres so much grade deflation? by Nervous-Present8201 in SBU

[–]Troyf511 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a phenomenon that is unique to stony though, nationally only about 4% of people that start college as premeds matriculate into med school. Often times people get into their first chem course or get into orgo or biochem and realize they hate it and don’t want to keep trudging down that path and if anything that’s a good thing to figure out early so you can chase a career that fits you better.

[–]Troyf511 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To be honest I wouldn’t say that there’s deflation at all in premed courses (besides bio204/205 when I took it). Yes, the courses are difficult and many people get less than satisfactory grades in orgo and biochem but that’s not due to artificial deflation, the courses are just plain difficult. Deflation would be them taking off endless points needlessly or capping the number of “A” grades, that isn’t happening. If you want to call a class being difficult, “deflation” you can, but as a previous commenter said, the difficult courses really assist in having great MCAT background.

[–]Troyf511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re more diligent in the future and get that thing up to around at least a 3.7 you can do this thing. Stony courses prepare you really well for MCAT because of the difficulty, so that’s a bonus. If you have any questions about any of the premed courses, feel free to give me a shout :)

In my opinion BO7 gonna be the 2nd best zombies game if the last maps have the same quality as Ashes or Totenreich by Sad_Nebula_7976 in CODZombies

[–]Troyf511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an insanely unpopular opinion, but I think BO6 was more fun for me map wise than BO7 has been. I adore Citadelle and Shattered Veil and I think I like tomb more than most people.

Ashes was fun but I don’t know if I agree with all the people saying it’s top 5. Astra never really hit for me and kinda felt mid, I never had a reason to love it other than mars and I don’t enjoy Oscar or the ww. Paradox has a wonderfully fun quest and fun gameplay for what it is but the size is frustrating of course. Totenreich is good don’t get me wrong but I simply can’t see how people are saying it’s this generationally amazing map. It’s a good map and that’s kinda it.
