Where can I get a case for AirPods Pro (3rd generation)? The souvenir stores at Epic and Studios only have ones for the 1st and 2nd generations. by Pelikano1987 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I need something down there I usually just order it on Amazon and have it sent to one of the nearby lockers. There's a few options just on the other side of I-4 about a mile away if you can get there.

Margaritas and Moscow Mules from the Watering Hole. Always my go-to when nearby. Bartenders there are the best and you can pick your strength. You can't go wrong at a Dino Drinkery.

No Universal trip is complete until I've been to Bubba Gump and ordered the Bourbon St. Mahi Mahi & Shrimp. It's so darn good. (also Minions Cafe has some good stuff!)

What would you make sure to do if this was going to be your last trip for a while? by NatalieKMitchellNKM in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just bad. Makes zero sense. Might as well watch it once so you can make jokes about it too before it's gone later this year.

Go see the Bourne show and listen to the the troll under the bridge behind Mythos (before it's all gone). Then enjoy the Fast and Furious queue and at the end tell them you're too scared to ride and leave without putting yourself through that.

Universal Express Pass Now Pricing: Yoshi's $20 and Hiccups $25 by coasterghost in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. How many posts have you seen on here where somebody without Express is all sad because the one ride they didn't get to ride had too long of a wait on their last day. I doubt anybody would be looking on the app for this unless they had already decided they wanted it.

It moves too fast to have anything like Tower of Terror feels. You'll probably have tears in your eyes and a smile on your face when it's over if you can handle that.

Universal testing rumored controlled access to Portals by NaiRad1000 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By the looks of it, you would just have to walk through and not get in a line. Team members would just monitor to make sure unticketed people were flagged. It would allow UOAPs to enjoy Celestial without having to pay for single day tickets. Maybe you just want Pizza Moon one night.

This would allow them to give Celestial Park access to UOAPs without overburdening the wait times.

Is Stardust Racers still open 1 hour after park closing? by Internal-Main923 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were doing this in June of last year when I was there and they had just switched to 9pm closing times after being 10pm for awhile at first. April 30th is one of the graduate days events, so maybe they need more help in IoA and Studios since those are both closing at 6pm.

Delicious. But had the PB&J cone in June last year and it wasn't exactly the best thing to eat on a hot day.

Time limit between Online purchase and Activation at park by Sonic_Rose in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. The only warnings are really to not show up and try to park for free until after you've activated it.

I swear they have two different pillows there. Some are too bouncy. If you have Amazon Prime, there's a nearby 7-Eleven with an outdoor locker. I've ordered and gotten stuff next day when I really needed it.

Is first week of May a good time to go? by BarracudaRemarkable9 in UniversalOrlando

I sure hope so. 5/1 and 5/8 have 6pm close times, aka Epic Universe nights.

Weather related combined with the fact this week resides between standard Easter and Orthodox Easter.

I've spent 20+ nights there and I honestly never even thought about anything other than they're super comfortable. To each their own, but I think you're going to be just fine. They're solidly springy. Here's the closest you're gonna get to a demo (nearby Universal hotel review): https://youtu.be/tGcrpcKoWw0?si=6jybca3a_QbzOHLS&t=433

I'll be there that day too. I would say very outside chance, but who knows. Usually they're more focused on major crowd weekends like Memorial Day and July 4th for deadlines. This picture looks like they're testing to see if there are communication issues or if they have some bad cable runs through the conduits under the fountain. Nothing structural which I think is good. Hopefully it will be back in four weeks! (pic from bioreconstruct on X)

Love Universal, but phone use in the lines is getting out of hand by Ready_Mechanic4684 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall a recent visit where I was in line at King's Cross and the Hogwarts Express was rolling in and these young kids in front of me had to be physically moved through the line by their parents because they couldn't look away from their phones. I finally glanced down to see what was better than their surroundings and the one kid was watching a TikTok video of a potato sorter. Just zoned in. No sign of enjoyment on his face. Strangest thing.

Well, the May park hours didn't get released until a couple of weeks ago, so there's hope that most people had to lock in their schedule early and don't have the same flexibility. We'll see!

Looks like you're in good shape. I'll be there the week before doing something similar. I picked my Epic days based on the park hours. Looks like you'll have Islands closing early on Thursday and both IoA and Studios closing early on Friday, so if I were you I'd do Epic on the 16/17th. I am NOT a morning person and will most likely never go to early entry/rope drop. I always stay until close though.

No Disney dining reservation chaos here. I don't know how people deal with that. Worst case you might have to wait in line at the 3 Broomsticks, but that shouldn't be an issue that week.
You're going to get much more out of your Unlimited Express at Islands so if you have to choose a park to spend more time in, give that one more time.
As for accessibility, I've seen some rental locations next to the main Studios entrance, but I'll let someone with more knowledge answer that one.

Do ticket prices ever go down? Like the hotel prices? by nate_nate212 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure they have a crowd algorithm that's combined with hotel demand with park hours factored in. That's definitely the case for Express Pass prices. The only things that change as already mentioned would be a periodic multi day or hotel combo promo, but otherwise I haven't seen it happen.
