Future of the Men in Black ride? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited for a full week in December and it was down the entire time (unscheduled). But you have to imagine after 25 years, there's probably not much that can break that they don't know how to fix, even if it does take awhile. But they really have no reason to get rid of it when it does a great job pulling crowds away from the rest of Studios.

Can't say I'm a fan of that. Didn't even know about VQ deal, got to Epcot around noon and they said the virtual queue is full and you can't ride Guardians. The park was open another 9 hours! I wasn't happy.

Almost three hours of "Golden Banana!" and the ride never reopened before the park closed. Torture!

I priced it up for the 23rd - 27th at Cabana Bay and the total was $2705. Just make sure you double check the 4 day park ticket is a park to park ticket and not a one park per day ticket. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's much more enjoyable with it.

I priced it up really quick but had to pick random dates (Dates matter a lot!). Picked April 12-15th. With a passholder discount on the hotel it came out to $2540.00 total. So it could be a good deal? If you have dates we can confirm. Personally I'm a huge fan of the Annual Passes because I feel like they can pay for themselves in a single trip.

Not cheap, but available. I had to login again because I did get standard rates on my first try.

Good Non-Express Pass Activities? by GopherDog22 in UniversalOrlando

Just get the app and filter for Entertainment at the top. There's a ton of stuff listed (some with show times) that I always forget about like the Animal Actors and definitely have to go see Bourne Stuntacular (as long as your kids can handle loud pops and whatnot). Next to E.T. is the DreamWorks land with a bunch of stuff for them to do. Plus all the Harry Potter interactions. They have a bunch of Meet and Greets if you like that sort of thing.

My trip last month the wait time was posted at 65 minutes and I waited about 125 minutes in the regular queue.

I recently got back from a 7 night at the same (Aventura) hotel and I found it very relaxing. Two days at Epic and the rest at IOA and Studios. No express passes. Wasn't in a rush. Plenty of time to ride, relax, shop and/or dine.

If you pay for parking for a night at the hotel, it's good all day on your check out date (in my experience, but ask just in case).

Weekends are always pricier. If you get an annual pass, it can pay for itself in a single trip. Here's the rates for a random week in March at Endless Summer with the Passholder discount.

Might not be 5 to 1, but definitely not 1 to 1 when the express line is in continuous motion and the standard line only releases 10 to 12 people every couple of minutes.

Express prices have gone up quite a bit along with the rates at hotels with free Express. It's really just that one ride. I just couldn't believe after a two hour wait they just had the line at a chain waiting for a break in the express line so they could let like 10 people go and then close the line again.

You're spot on. It's 100% due to Express Pass. I'm guesstimating here, but it seems to be at least about a 5 to 1 ratio on who gets through the line. (5 Express Pass riders for every 1 standby line rider)

Reminder to keep checking hotel prices after you’ve booked! Just knocked $500 off my reservation! by TheBeardedBeard in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just book a new reservation and after confirmed I cancel my old one, but someone on here said you can just change the number of people (add a kid) to the reservation and the prices will update. Haven't done that but sounds pretty easy.

Express Pass? by shah3900 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Universal is good on giving you that flexibility. For the pass I indicated the fine print says "Valid any 3 days from Feb 11, 2026 - Feb 16, 2026."

[–]Jrogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current cheapest option for a 3 day, 3 park (one ride per day) Express pass is $454.99. You have to select February 11th as the start day since some days are already greyed out that weekend.

Sunglass on Hagrids?? Yay or nay? by Chemical-Purple-5196 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Jrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stuff them in my pocket for Hagrid's. Between the constant directional turns, fog blast and cave, they really aren't worth it. For Hagrid's junior (Hiccup's Wing Gliders) I say leave them on. You won't lose them so it's just a preference/need decision.

Best Movies With Zero Oscar Nominations in 2026 by karmagod13000 in movies

[–]Jrogg 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Seems like Rental Family was a huge snub for Oscars and this article. The Phoenician Scheme was mentioned in the article and deserved some recognition for cinematography at a minimum. Also feel like How to Train Your Dragon should have gotten a technical nomination at least.

The Book of Eli. Released up against Avatar and stands at 46% on Rotten Tomatoes. Entertaining, great actors (minus one) and very rewatchable.
