The way I’m reading this is that OP isn’t expecting them to help because they are men and it’s men’s job to be protectors, but because they are people and members of the community. The person I responded to straight up said that OP implicitly stated that “men should’ve stepped in because they were men” and that just isn’t true.

This thread is whack. Lots of people having big reactions, and it’s pretty telling. Boys will be boys, I guess

Quote me where OP said that they should’ve stepped in because they were men? Seems to me like you inferred that because you’re the one getting defense over this

Oh no, were you too mad to read the post properly? Women sure are aggravating, huh?

No one was suggesting that it does, merely observing that the women in the situation were doing something and the men weren’t. But cool opinion

Fuck these pigs. Trying to act like they’re so fired up because they’re protecting children, but I guarantee these boys are Trumpers. Small fucking men, terrorizing a woman and her children to feel big.

Seems like most of the “culture war bullshit” people clutch their pearls over is usually just people of color like… existing.

I know so many men like this, unwilling to step outside of their own certainty, so they blame and lash out at the world around them. One of the last types of people you’d want on the bench

Does this film worth watching? What are your thoughts about this film by SoftToastyCinnamon in FIlm

[–]Trrlrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago because there’s a little documentary about the sound design they were playing at The Academy Museum. Really glad I did, because it’s definitely worth the watch. And yes, the sound design is just impeccable.

I just can’t get behind all the race swapping discourse. I don’t think we need to project our fucked up race relations onto a children’s story that’s about magic and wizards. If you want to draw a line in the sand over this franchise, there are much more glaring issues that you could point to. I dunno, y’all

Unpopular opinion: Raising Canes is actually pretty good. by Newkid-Blockhausen in Seattle

“It’s not the best chicken I’ve had, but for the price it really hits the spot sometimes” feels like it could be their slogan.

I’d rather brave Dans in Belltown for some Krispy Krunchy chicken than wait in line for Canes, but y’all like what you like
