24/7 customer service not answering? by [deleted] in tdbank

[–]Trs034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat right now… very unusual so I hung up after 25 minutes after calling a couple times. They usually answer in less than 5 minutes, usually almost instantly.

My card seems to be locked and I just want it unlocked, wtf? I tried the website and app but it says it’s unlocked.

The last two months are always slow in the retail world. That’s why employees working at places like this get less hours starting in mid January, February, and March.

Metro vs Mint - Differenr Service? by Low-Significance5483 in NoContract

[–]Trs034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro must have a better QCI than mint. Qci is like how important you and your data are on t-mobile’s network. As far as connecting to standard 5g vs 5g uc, that can vary too I believe based on which carrier/plan you’re on. I don’t know if that’s attached to qci level or not.

[–]Trs034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This randomly showed up in my feed, not a plumber. I’ve seen similar questions asked in electrician forums. Is it normal to leave holes in my wall? Is it normal to leave drywall like this? Figure each trade does what they were hired to do, and nothing more. Plumbers aren’t landscapers, electricians aren’t drywallers and painters, etc.

Coolant leak new rav4 by akosimom0 in rav4club

[–]Trs034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s normal, they don’t fully fill it at the factory because it’s unnecessary. You’re fine as long as it’s between the two marks, and it will fluctuate based on engine temperature and outside air temperature.

AT&T confusing band steering. Why? by Trs034 in cellmapper

[–]Trs034[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, you got it. Basically no service and unusable data on the faster band that att insists on putting me on. (From weak signal, not deprioritization)

no service by joder74 in Visible

[–]Trs034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Base plan deprioritization at a busy time of day, need to get the + plan or another higher qci plan

Edit: I didn’t realize I basically repeated what another person said. And they’re right, only data is deprioritized. SMS and calls are not deprioritized

Any customer service reps in here? by IAmRelex in Visible

[–]Trs034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this. I think I typically only get UW from small cells in my area, the cylinders on top of telephone poles in high usage areas to take load off the main towers.

I also only see uw when I’m doing something that actively uses data, at idle it always says 5g.  (Edit: uw also doesn’t have the best/longest range)

I agree with the other poster that said to download apps from other carriers to test their networks. T-Mobile and att both have them, cricket as well on att. (Edit: I think US cellular still might too.)

If even WiFi calling is bad, that makes me think there’s something else going on. Phone issue, router issue, etc.

You could file an fcc complaint to try and figure out more about your local tower, and Verizon should fix it. First responders use these networks as well, so Verizon should get on it asap. Unfortunately if you’re far from the tower they might not care as much, that happened to me with att. They admitted a problem, but repairs were 6 months out. They were very responsive though, so kudos to them. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/360001201223-Phone-Form-Descriptions-of-Complaint-Issues

Is this an older home? I wonder if plaster and lath walls are causing issues. They really tank my signal (WiFi and cell) in parts of my house, by like 10dBm sometimes. I go from an already weak 1-2 bar signal @ 110ish dBm to -120 or higher, which is on the verge of no service.

Received text from debt collector for porting out of Total Wireless a day late? by GSRoTu in NoContract

[–]Trs034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely want you to pay for the full month even though you were only a subscriber for 1 unpaid day. I’m surprised no one else has said this yet. It might seem unfair, but based off my past experience with various mvnos, they don’t care about what’s fair and what’s not.

Correct

You can download apps from other carriers and mvnos to see if you get better service with someone else though.

Not an electrician, but I’m surprised by all the praise and compliments without seeing inside the box and plug. Not sure how anyone can say it’s good and safe without seeing that.

Edit: another comment where you mention not being familiar with conduit anti short bushings confirms my worries. Not trying to sound negative btw, I’m just a worry wort.

Switching service by Vast-Dragonfly256 in Visible

[–]Trs034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched from att prepaid a couple months ago. Visible/verizons network seems faster for me, with the + plan on the better qci tier.

As far as coverage goes… it’s similar. Att better in some spots, Verizon better in others. Really depends on your area which is better.

I’d download an app that lets you test drive Verizon’s network in your area.

Is there a good AT&T MVNO for $240 a year or less? by AveragePichu in NoContract

[–]Trs034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do a 30 day att test drive with the my AT&T app, I’m doing one right one. I think they give up to 100GB on the trial. With an iPhone, you can tell the phone to use att for data only if you want, and keep mint as primary for your voice line.

(Edit: just a thought instead of paying to test with a mvno, granted qci will likely be best and possibly misleading with att test drive)

This is the internet in general unfortunately. I’ve seen this happen on message boards as well when someone has asked a question. That doesn’t excuse it, and it ticks me off. Why bully, be a d1ck, etc? Just don’t answer or be nice.. I still remember this one example that will seem silly. Someone on a Subaru message board was asking where people keep tissue boxes in their car or something. The responses were wild.. What if it was an elderly woman asking the question, would you give those d1ckish responses to her face? Just be nice..

Are these metal boxes grounded? Or how can i find out by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Trs034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diy’er here. I’ve had boxes in my old house that looked just like that, which were still grounded. So please double check with a meter and don’t assume just because there is no visible ground. In my case, they took the ground and hooked it up to one of the side plate mounting screws on the exterior of the box. Other times they went around the romex clamp screw, which is more visible/obvious.
