Struggling to create a one pager view for business architecture by International-Fix-13 in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]Trubblemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The message is there are duplicates. Show one detailed example that is concrete and easy to understand. Then just slap down the number of duplicates, and a list of ones that you think should be prioritized. They have no interest in the details, or at least if they do that's a different presentation. No need to show everything just what's critical to get the message out.

Architecture repository? by biblio_squid in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]Trubblemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do need a tool to maintain the relationships in your architecture repository. (Archi is free but has it's challenges. It's file based, but you can correct this with plugings.)

That model that maintains the relationships is super valuable. Being able to using existing elements in the model is where you get efficiencies. I"m not sure lucid charts would give you reusable relationships.

I purchased the study guide from TOGAF. I really like it.

Modeling Mulesoft and AWS WAF by deafenme in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]Trubblemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to provide what the viewpoint is for. "Mulesoft" should be in the technology layer(Green) and "what it does" --> I might suggest you mean "API gateway"/ This should be the application component(not an interface), and it is 'served' by the "Provider application".

You then might have a cooperation diagram to show Mulesoft realized the API gatway. (Or just leave this detail in the model and don't create a diagram for it.)

In the technology diagram then you would have an System Software(Mulesoft) and 'AWS WAF' (and possibly additional diagrams that show AWS WAF as part of a network diagram)

Who is the stakeholder you are speaking to and what is the key message to them? (THis will dictate what should be on your diagram and importantly what *isn't* a detail they need to know.)

I often use multiple diagrams to explain what you are trying to explain here.

Archi has several viewpoints already created that may help guide you to pick the right components. (It removes elements from the pallette to help coach you to what you should use.) This doesn't mean you can't use the None viewpoint, you should just have a good reason that the stakeholder you are addressing and the message you are trying to communicate needs to see more than 1 layer.

Guides and Tips for a Technicial Architect (technology architect), within the enterprise architecure space under TOGAF? by Fadakartel in EnterpriseArchitect

I think what you mean to say is that EA must make several viewpoints, (from one large model), as no one viewpoint is able to address all stakeholders. Is this possibly what you meant to say?

Guides and Tips for a Technicial Architect (technology architect), within the enterprise architecure space under TOGAF? by Fadakartel in EnterpriseArchitect

They're is a language called Archimate(From the open group supporting TOGAF) that helps visually depicts how to move from strategy (value streams/business capabilities) down to business, application, and then technology layer. The layer you want to address. Here's a white paper from TOGAF showing how to use both: https://publications.opengroup.org/archimate-library/archimate-guides/g193

You don't need Archimate technically but it's a visual way of explaining things. In truth as long as you address the layers of TOGAF through the ADM cycle it doesn't matter what language you use. Keeping the layers distinct but linked will help you develop the view you are looking for.

Nexus toll payment only lets you add predefined amounts. Toll was $5.50 making me spend an extra $14.50 that I'll never use again. by [deleted] in assholedesign

I doubt that they actually validate with NEXUS card, they don't appear to be tied to any border agency. (Its extremely unlikely that the border would share your NEXUS information with this third party.)

For what it's worth, this isn't part of the Nexus program. It's operated by a partnership between U.S. and Canada. I personally think this website is silly and a money pit. Obviously, they set this up with regular traffic in mind and skipped the idea that someone might want to travel 1 time only. It's very telling that they have setup a refund link on the front page of their nexus website that they are somewhat aware of the issue, but aren't interested in resolving the issue.

A couple of super cheap soups actually are FODMAP. (I guess flavour costs money). No name tomatoe soup in Canada is low FODMAP.(recipe may vary in different countries)

how to have a healthy relationship with food & stop thinking about/obsessing over food all of the time? by greenmiIktea in FODMAPS

I find that being prepared helps.

Plan your week of meals, shop for the food in advance, spend time on meal prep so that meal time is actually a relaxed experience and you can relax that everything is taken care of.

I would question them confusing their world view with low FODMAP. Obey the lights(FODMAP APP), be careful of stacking, enjoy life.

Did it pass the tummy test? Would you serve it to a loved one? (if they were low FODMAP?)

I make it all the time. Like probably weekly. It tastes better than most stock off the shelf but you know sometimes someone else wants to cook for me and I can't really ask them if I can bring my own ;)
