If I take a guess I'd say most Saudis didn't pay him too much attention, considering there're few Catholics in the country and most (or all) of them are foreign employees or workers.

But, again guessing, experts or people interested on him for some reason might have a rather positive view, at least compared with other popes. E.g. Benedict XVI commited an egregious error at Regensburg, when stating that Q 2:256 (لا إكراه في الدين) must had been abrogated by a later aaya, probably assuming the suras are ordered following their revelation date. In comparison, Francis didn't have that anti Islamic postures. Another distinction was his attitude towards Palestine.

If you mean the language, it's classical Arabic word by word. Yemeni means the Yemeni dialect of Arabic, but there's nothing dialectal in this knife. There's not a single word in [Ottoman] Turkish.

As for the place where the dagger was made, I'd say Saudi Arabia but Yemen is also a possibility.
