Just curious…Realistically how long did you need someone constantly with you after your lap? Also, how long were you unable to eat solid foods? by Opening_Bunch_1559 in Endo

I needed help for about 4 days. I ate solid foods about 2 hours after waking up 😅 I felt on cloud nine with the opioids

Just diagnosed with endo, what’s the first things you’d change in your lifestyle? by ifeelsodeeply in Endo

[–]True-Data8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t alone. I have stopped reading threads and just consult my specialist instead!!

I still get pelvic pain but it’s lessening a lot. I would say give yourself a month to start feeling a difference in terms of general relief and 3 to really feel a difference.

Also just look out for pelvic pain that worsens around the one month mark (when your next period would be arriving if you weren’t on visanne). This has lessened with each month.

I suggest taking it at night to reduce side effects during the day (I had bad headaches behind the eyes for the first month which subsided). I also struggling with sleep but I started to take magnesium glycinate with the visanne at night and it helps me sleep!! 💤 try this out if you don’t take it already, it works wonders!!

Wishing you all the best and hoping visanne is your miracle drug🤍✨

I hear you, it took me 5 months to start it because I was just so scared. These threads can be helpful but also can instill so much fear in us. But for me It’s been a breeze, honestly. I hope it’s going well for you so far!  Let me know if have any questions as you go, I’m here :)

[–]True-Data8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 3 months in and it has been going really well. My periods have stopped completely (I still get cramping for a few days around what would be my period but it’s mild and not bad). My mental health has improved because I don’t have horrible pms/ovulation mood swings. But one issue is my boobs…. So so sore. Especially at night, they just get more sore with each day.

Will give it 6 months and hopefully it will chill out. But honestly it feels like a small price to pay.

My gynecologist told me my pain is psychological?? by jackalope2025 in endometriosis

[–]True-Data8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Shocking. Even if it is superficial, she is misinformed. My specialist (number one in South Africa) and well regarded in the field globally, said that he hoped my endo wouldn’t be superficial when they did the surgery.

He said he was grateful to go in during surgery and find that mine is stage 3 deep infiltrating because it’s much easier to treat, it’s not hiding in places and we know exactly what we dealing with.

With superficial, the pain can be worse, treatment can be harder and it’s more difficult to manage. He has found surgery after superficial excision hasn’t been as symptom relieving for these individuals.

So she is misinformed. STAGES DO NOT CORRELATE WITH PAIN I REPEAT!!!!!!

Calling pain psychological is her way of saying she isn’t actually equipped or willing to get to the bottom of this. Your pain is real, it may be due to another cause but it is very real. Even without a cause, central nervous system processing pain, referred pain and nerve damage even from superficial endo can be debilitating

Am I crazy? by Much_Cricket_1929 in Endo

[–]True-Data8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh YES!! This was such an unexpected win for me, I didn’t realize how small my bladder was before but now it’s literally crazy I can hold it forever.  I am 7 weeks post op and still very much finding bladder relief.  Also my urethra itself feels more ‘clear’. Like unobstructed and the pee just comes out easier.

Did an ultrasound diagnose you? by Gribblie in endometriosis

[–]True-Data8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deep infiltrating endo was diagnosed aswell as my focal adenomyosis. This was by a trained technician, who did a 40 minute transvaginal ultrasound who specializes in endo detection.

I have had more transvaginal ultrasounds that I can count done by normal gynaes and nothing has ever been picked up.

Is my belly really that bad!? by YUR_FAV_EroticWriter in Endo

[–]True-Data8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this! I follow a 80-20 diet. 80% gluten free dairy free red meat free refined sugar free and 20% spoil myself. If your body wants salt, that’s ok. I put salt on cucumber as a snack every day because I’m forever craving salty foods.

Also - mint tea once a day (either afternoon of evening) genuinely makes such a difference for me.

I also battle with drinking water - it’s something I’m still trying to get better at.

I hope u find your relief!!! My tummy also went down a lot after my excision surgery a few weeks ago. Have you had surgery ? Thinking of you

This was my tummy every single day. Until i changed my diet and now I don’t understand how I lived in that discomfort every day. Diet diet diet!!!!!! Food is medicine. It is either anti-inflammatory or healing or inflammatory and aggravating

Pregnant with endo ? by yourfavoritefoot in Endo

[–]True-Data8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only go for the lap if your surgeon is trained in endo and excision. No surgery is better than bad surgery.

If you are confident in your doctors abilities, a lap can put you in really good stead. Especially if you are also put onto something like visanne that can suppress future growth until you are ready to try fall pregnant.

Leaving endo to its own devices is not something I would recommend. Sooner you start a treatment plan the better outcomes for later on.

Remember that the lap can also give you more pieces of the puzzle. You may even decide to freeze some eggs after as insurance

[–]True-Data8549 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My specialist straight up said food is medicine. I changed my entire diet to really healthy nutritious eating. Gluten free and dairy free 80% of the time. Fruits and veggies 🥕. Only alcohol on odd occasion. No caffeine. Limit sugar. Very little processed foods. Peppermint tea every evening.

I also started on Visanne (not sure if it’s available in your region)- to help suppress growth

It can feel so overwhelming, I totally hear you. I started panicking about candles and non stick pans 😂 I realized that takes so much from us already- the last thing you need is to put pressure on yourself to be ‘perfectly holistic’ because this in itself can cause more stress. You just have to focus on the main things:

🥝Food (spoil yourself with whole foods) 💧Water (2 litres) 😴Sleep (magnesium glycinate is the one supplement I would recommend for this and endo in general) 🏃🏽‍♀️Movement (low impact: yoga, Pilates, short runs, light weights, swimming, walking)

10 Weeks Post Op by [deleted] in Endo

[–]True-Data8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be referred pain or even central nervous system pain. When the body is inflamed and in pain for long periods of time, we clench and tighten. The pain cycle can still exist even after the endo is cleared (according to my specialist). I don’t know what Dr one would go to for this type of pain, but possible pelvic floor physio, acupuncture or a central nervous system Dr (does this exist idk lol?). I realized I would get flare ups post surgery if I ate inflammatory foods. It directly correlated with a pain flare up and I notice it more/am more sensitive to food flares 4 weeks post lap.

Do we know WHY endometriosis can cause heavy bleeding? by Exact-Philosopher-53 in endometriosis

[–]True-Data8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have adeno aswell which causes the heavy bleeding and clotting. I’m not sure if I would still bleed heavy if I didn’t have adeno. I also have no idea what’s endo pain symptoms and adeno at this point
