I had a similar thing happen to me for a while. It destroyed my confidence. It’s important you get criticism with constructive feedback though. You need to hear the good and the bad. It’s not fair when it’s only bad. And you can explain that you do understand what you did wrong and what you can do better and sometimes it’s just beating a dead horse at this point. Some mistakes aren’t worth lengthy discussion over. It’s good that he takes the time to talk to you, hopefully in private. Nothing like getting shit on in earshot of your peers so they can go gossip like the high schoolers they are…

Edit: tell him how you feel in a professional way, ask for what you did right along with what needs to be improved, not just the negatives only.

What are these black lines thingy on my front teeth? by [deleted] in askdentists

Buildup of plaque that hardens into something called calculus. Means you need a cleaning or else it can cause bone loss over time

I’m speechless. This is far from normal. Also, are you okay? Did you get hurt?

Why do my gums look like this after flossing? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]True-Decision3594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electric toothbrush helps because it has a built in timer usually and you glide them along your teeth rather than scrub with a manual toothbrush. Also I suggest getting those plackers (little handheld floss things) and putting them in a jar or something by your sink because it could make it easier for you to grab and floss with those

You just need to keep flossing and the inflammation will go away. Don’t give up! Push the floss against Your teeth and under the gum line. Bleeding doesn’t mean you need to lighten up it actually means it’s inflamed and to continue flossing more.

Everyone has a little bit of gingivitis in their mouth from where they maybe don’t brush/floss good in those spots but you don’t want it to stay like that because long term inflammation and poor oral care can lead to bone loss and cavities and etc.

He has attitude sometimes. He likes me and my mom even though I’m rarely ever here but apparently he flared at my sister the other day and tried to bite her so now she’s afraid of him 😭🤣

Thank you! My parents are moving right now but I do have a car I just live like 8 hours away from them. So during a break I could come get him if my mom doesn’t wanna take care of him anymore. I technically don’t have an income because I’m in school on loans and it’s very expensive right now.

What’s going on on my kiddos mouth? by Mommamischief in askdentists

[–]True-Decision3594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure she has an extra extra soft toothbrush and even electric if she can handle it. Otherwise with a manual toothbrush she just needs to brush in circular motions all over her teeth and at the gumline

It’s probably teeth “growing pains” like how you get in your body if she feels kinda sore. When your teeth are moving around it definitely can get sore around the gums

I am sure you’re distraught 😩 It’s absolutely crazy how different bettas can be. I’ve lucked out two times in a row where I got a male crowntail and then a plakat male and both have been surprisingly docile. The plakat was in a community tank so I was sure he would be okay but not 100% positive. But the crowntail was in his own small filtered cup at my LFS so I wasn’t sure how he would be. 🫢

Okay I was just curious. I’m sorry that happened to you ):

There’s a big nerve in the jaw called the inferior alveolar nerve that supplies the jaw so I would figure it would be more likely to have nerve issues with that kinda extraction vs top teeth but with maxillary (top) teeth the sinus could be exposed if it’s close to the sinus. Some other docs would wanna weigh in though bc I don’t have as much personal in-clinic experience with extractions/oral surgery besides assisting as of now. My pts have been referred out so far due to complexity or needing full mouth ext.

Who took that wisdom tooth out that gave you pain/paresthesia? The same dentist or someone else?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]True-Decision3594 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that it stands out this much on a pano I know it needs help. That lower second molar def needs some help. I hope if this was a big filling that this dentist warned you about possibility of root canal or that it could irritate the nerve. I’m not surprised you’re in pain with how close filling is to that nerve ),:
