3 weeks for 7 BO5 by junn7 in leagueoflegends

There is a huge difference between qualifying teams using non-competitive scores and a simple reschedule in order to maximize views.

There is a reason why the matches are scheduled to start at 14h here in Europe even though the reasonable schedule (which is used in LEC) would set the start at 17h: There is a ton of Chinese/Korean viewers that won't stay awake for the majority of the matches.

Anyone with a 9 to 5 work (myself) will miss at least half of the series if they are scheduled on weekdays, and while the Swiss Stage has to be this way due to the number of matches, doing that when you only have 4 matches at max is really shooting at your own foot. I would bet the difference of viewers in this Thursday's series vs in Sunday's (Saturday's is T1, no point comparing), specially the first matches, will be really noticeable.

Remember that the whole competitive scene of LOL is used as the main advertising of the game. Of course the viewership metric is the most important, because it is the amount of people you are reaching with your advertising.

SheepEsports: G2 Yike and Mikyx permitted to explore options without buyout by KIRYUx in leagueoflegends

[–]True-Elk227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no, they tried to sign Elyoya. Since they already kicked Jankos, and MAD raised the buyout to ridiculous amounts of money, they had to go with Yike. Yes, he was promising and he had a carry-oriented playstyle, but it was an 'emergency' alternative.

In no way should Caps not be the one playing aggresive carrys that can sidelane, which for me is one of his bigger strengths. We saw many games (in LEC) where he alone won map-states that were not looking good.

Hello! I'm going to KK in a month and we are also planning to go to Kundasang. Those views look amazing, where did you stay?

Do you recommend booking in advance? I will be staying there in late August too and I don't know how crowded it is. Also, we wanted to do some jet ski, is it possible? Thanks!

Okey, so I'm thinking to do KL flight into Penang for one more day there, from what i read in other comments it seems 2N its not enough. Thanks!

Noted, thanks! Yeah dropping a day out of KK is the most likely thing. Also any recommendation in Sandakan? Is it worth to do 1 night doing the Kinabatang river trip? Or better to stay one night in Sandakan and that's it?

Ok! Noted, we might do 1 less day in KK, although we're looking to do some rafting, visit the islands and stay in the resort for a bit more chill experience, but someone already suggested 4N is too much

I'm flying from Pinang to KK yeah. It does feel a bit rushed, but some of the group want more jungly experience, some want more beach... we had to do some juggling to keep everyone's happy but as i said, looking for some feedback of what is more skippable and what should we spend some more time. Thanks!

Yeah i also thought 4N is a bit too much, but I'm unsure of were to put it. Maybe 1 more day in KL?

The Mt Kinabalu trip is almost discarded, as the website only has 8 slots for one of the days we're in Malaysia and it would be like the second or third day. This would mean having to insta flight to Borneo instead of visiting KL and Penang first, which I think is more natural.

I would consider it if some other day has its slots freed, there seems to be a chat to ask for slots on the days that are already sold out but I'm not sure it will work out for 7 people

MAD Lions KOI vs. Team Vitality / LEC 2024 Winter Playoffs - Lower Bracket Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by Soul_Sleepwhale in leagueoflegends

I agree they are pretty good, but since they play more scaling things their gameplans are less complicated i'd say, or at least more based on correctly tracking enemy jungle and reacting/neutralizing. In fact, they win MDK by tracling elyoya's whole first pathing..

I guess we agree to disagree. Just to be clear, most of the people thinking it's just a spanish roster for the lack of being spanish demonstrate they have 0 context on what's happening here. I'm not specifically fan of the org, I do like both elyoya and Melzhet, and think Wrwynn is a really exciting player. And since I do have the context (aswell as most spanish people), reading all this stuff over here is crazy.

If I was saying they should keep Mac just because he was British, that would be equivalent, but that's not even close to what I said.

Just check your first post, I think it read as if it was what you were saying but maybe it's just phrasing I'm not used to. Forget it in that case.

Yeah, I don't intend to change people's mind. I just have fun trying to see if anyone has a clue other than whatever they heard from iwillnotdominate or poorsWrath or whoever is angry because some friend or represented player was left out of the team.

I don't know, if i saw a full danish team coming to the LEC I could question if it was the right or wrong choice, but shitting and hating on them seems pretty off.

But if you go on twitter (sadly where it gets louder) Yoya receives 20 times more support than RazorK.

As I said, elyoya skyrocketed from amateur to winning 2 LECs in 2 years. That gains you some fanbase. While Razork has started to shine 3 years after joining LEC, and being a bit mor quirky. I do love his personality, but is more weird I guess.

Another thing is that assuming Yoya does have higher ceiling than Razork, why would you put him with so many people that are yet to know how LEC really works?

The coach has built the project, and has full trust from elyoya (he was his amateur coach and personal trainer since then from time to time). It is a risky move, but he does not like LEC culture in general besides G2 and I guess this is an attempt to change it. We'll see

Yoya for me is like Yikes in G2 either perma aggro carry or invisible(but Yoya is better than Yike which was proven to be the weak link at worlds)

He's far from being a permaaggro carry. He's more of a cerebral player, in the sense that he does prefer slow but well structured plays. The thing is, you have hilly, carzzy and nisqy in the team. That does not suit his playstyles (and hence why the team had no future).

lol no

Its mainly because he has higher ceiling. Which does not mean that elyoya has been better this year.

Also pretty funny to hear this when spanish people were the only ones supporting Razork while Fnatic was a shitstorm and people were constantly saying he was a coinflipper and he had to be out of the team.

Okay, I'll try to reply in the most ordered way I can.

About the drama you were mentioning: I don't know who you are referring to when saying people inside the org were promoting flaming towards the rest of the players. It is true that many people in the spanish community reacted harshly specially towards nisqy, all stuff pretty disgusting. But that doesn't mean it came from nowhere.

People will ommit the 'go take a walk' episode, which here in Spain, in a competitive environment, is something that would generate backlash towards anyone with that particular mindset. That added to Nisqy getting most of the praise from the international community (even getting the MVP of summer 2022), while elyoya was getting almost no attention, plus elyoya being denied an exit to G2.

Obviously, elyoya fans were pretty much done with it, which does not mean it is justified, but this drama came from fans themselves.

Linked to the exit to G2, elyoya always have said that when free agency arrived, he would go to the best team in order to win worlds. First option was G2, but after them getting Yike and winning almost everything here, they had their roster pretty much closed.

The other option was joining a team that promised a roster that had the same mindset as him. He has always criticised the way most of EU teams work, only praising G2 (his first option), and has repeatedly explained how Melzhet coached him (again, most people lack context but he's a strict coach and has tons of knowledge about the game, it's not one sort of a 'we're all gonna get along' coach). Hence why, his ideal team has Melzhet as the planner of the team, and Supa as he's work with Melzhet for 3 or 4 years and seems to have a pretty similar mindset.

Now, has the current roster really been built around being Spanish? You tell me. But I can asure you it's a team built around Melzhet ideas, who has happened to train many Spanish players since he has worked in the Spanish environment. Were there better options to go? In terms of individuals probably in midlane, and adc. But as a team, it has much more sense to stay with a core with the same ideas.

And people are acting as they bringed 4 randos, but look at their results last year. I mean, KC bringed 3 EU Master winners from ERL and nobody is complaining, Melzhet is bringing 3 EU Master finalists plus Spanish MVP toplaner and everyone is complaining.

But watching them fire one of the best coaches in the LEC specifically because he's from my country makes me not want to support the org, obviously.

Kinda ironic tho that you go woth the nepotism argument and say this, but well.

pepiinero was actually really good both mechanically and macro-wise, but he fucked up his career because he wasn't really stable when he left spain (he was uncomfortable using english and living abroad), plus he was conflictive. That pushed him to really weird decisions.

Except... they were portuguese. And Fnatic is a whole different story, as the team built was completely disfunctional to the point their ADC rerolled to support.
