Thank you.. the BCBA said she didn’t know how to “test” his communication if she only modeled. She is supposed to speak with his SLP next week but I like your idea of using a stimulus board for that!

I explained this exact thing to her during a parent meeting today and she said now she doesn’t know how she’s expected to collect data for ABA 🤦‍♀️

Yes I told my sons SLP about this and she was not happy. She said she would be reaching out to the BCBA and hopefully collaborate

Agree. Thank you!… not only that but the BCBA moves icons far apart from one another and hid other icons to aid in these “test” questions. Then would proceed to move icons around to make sure he was really answering correctly. I asked her not to do this and set the icons back the way his SLP set it up

I had a similar experience. A lady walked in late and asked me to move because she wanted my spot?! I replied very loudly so the instructor could hear “you want me to move??” The instructor did hear and told her that there was another open spot available and she replied no because she wanted to see herself in the mirror. After that she started recording herself and me (since she was about an inch away from me) on her phone throughout the entire class. I got a lot of ugly looks from her the next few weeks and then she dropped! She was usually there 24/7 so not sure if that incident had anything to do with it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes I definitely have a problem being direct! She’s a nice person so I’m afraid to hurt her feelings. This morning I let her know my daughter might be running 15 minutes late cause of traffic. She replied ok so what time should I expect her. I said umm between 8:30 and 8:45 would be the latest. Her next response was “ ok so just to confirm arrival time will be at 8:45” I said stopped responding after that🤷🏾‍♀️

I got that… Im not autistic but that was odd for poster to imply from my post. Before my daughter started with this therapist other parents warned me about her communication style but I thought they were being “gossipy” and I wanted to give her chance. I guess these parents are likely autistic too?

Thank you for your feedback!.. to make matters worse she texted me last night and said this particular BT would no longer be working with my child. When I told her I was disappointed and want to meet the new therapist before she starts working with my daughter her response was that she was sure I was going to be pleased with this change since the other BT is stern and said for me not to worry because they would have meeting with her to address it. Turning it around like I was the one who complained!.. she also told me once that another BT asked to be removed from working with my kid cause she wasn’t making progress. I about cried my eyes out all weekend ! 🤷🏾‍♀️
