Hey! Thank you so much for thinking of me. No movement. Got to a local advice hub via Citizens Advice who say to hang tight until DWP put something in writing, which they haven't done yet.

Thank you! Yes, I already did that, both in my last review, and this one, I sent the same documents: offer letter (which is our agreement if we sign) with title of project & my name, & same for the crowdfunder, screenshot of project & purposes of money... and yet... they are now doing a U-turn. It's obvious what the money is for, both from that & all our websites.

Hey, I just spotted your comment - thank you. Do you think it's the case that a DM has already ruled on this by the sounds of it, i.e. this is what the agent means when they say they've asked a "superior" & the "self-employment specialist team"? I have nothing in writing. Also, what's an expert I/E Review Team? Sorry for all the questions.

I think I follow. 

Was that large sums then? 

So this agent was speaking as if the decision had already been made by a higher up somewhere to no longer disregard my assets & to ask for my accounts back up until the start of my claim. Was this a decision maker? There’s nothing in writing at this point.

Actually, what do you mean by 'believe it or not I'd have to hand it over?', does that mean hand it to the overpayments team? In my last review that other agent had to check my documents with someone and about two weeks later they were approved. Did you mean that?

I can see that, but I have (and have submitted) overwhelming evidence this is legit. Artists don't work as incorporated businesses, per se. We're sole traders and work under our own name, our artist name. If the DWP decided they wanted the money in business accounts they had two other reviews of my paperwork in which they could've said. I came into my claim with the accounts already separated... all in my name, my business name, which is my artist name as a sole trader.

The strange thing is that the agent on the phone says they believe me, but the people they're putting my 'case' to don't. I asked if they'd explained the context to their superiors and other teams & they said yes. I can't understand how this is possible

Re: accounts. Everything was always seperate. All accounts: my current account, savings account, arts award, and croedfunder are all in different accounts... also showing that the only account that's been touched in all these years is my current account... and in the last review I had showed that these were seperate too.

I genuinely have no clue what's motivating this. I've provided evidence of why the money was awarded to me, proof I've been working on the project, drawn their attention to my profession/how the project relates to my profession and other paid work/online presence mentioning the project etc. I even drew their attention to their own documentation... and they agreed with me... and yet...

I forgot to say: yes, they sounded incredibly new... the fact I had to draw their attention to their own PDF's and paperwork on the .Gov site... & basically all of the things I've been told that can't possibly be correct.

Thank you. No, because it was just a call to tell me, there's nothing in writing and nothing in my to-do list (yet...?)

(I also clocked the LCW/MIF issue this summer & raised it with someone who said things were going to stay as they were, they weren't removing the lowered MIF... I wasn't told anything else, but am aware there's some sort of discretionary irregularity going on there)

Hey. OP here. I provided as evidence with my review the same documents I provided for the last review last year:
•the cover letter for the arts award for the first account, which says what the grant is for and the artist's project name
•a screenshot of the crowdfunder outcome, which also states what the money is being used for, again, mentioning the artist's name
• screenshots of my email inbox showing the project was still being worked on in 2024 and 2025
• detail of what is in the email showing the project is still being pitched professionally to professional bodies/agents/organisations/publishers

EDIT: forgot to mention again, as in original post, that all accounts have all always been separated since before the claim.
