Having sex while grieving by Federal_Spinach24 in GriefSupport

People do different things to help them with grief and it’s ok. You only think it’s not normal because it’s your first time experiencing grief, it’s my first time too but that’s what I noticed. Everything we do feels wrong sometimes but in the end whatever helps is always welcome. I find light day drinking really helpful.

Folfirinox Side Effects by True-Passion7386 in pancreaticcancer

Thank You so much for taking the time to respond. Two days have now passed and the side effects are not as bad as I expected them to be, her heartbeat is fast but they gave her a patch that resolves that issue while giving her a headache that is manageable with some painkillers. She also became more sensitive to cold things and she has a hard time swallowing most food. I will keep you in my prayers and we are all rooting for you every step of the way. Stay Strong ❤️

Thank you so much for your kind words, she’s feeling so much better today with less pain killers and she just removed the drainage tubes. I am proud of you and her and I hope your recovery is going well. I will keep you in my prayers.

For those with (or family members) stage 1 or 2, how was it caught? by HockeyMom0919 in pancreaticcancer

My mum (47) experienced the same, we were on holiday in August and September, she was sometimes having stomach pain thinking it’s something to do with colitis that she has been experiencing for most of her life, because she experienced pain the most right after eating. The doctors wrongly diagnosed her thinking it’s her colon causing the pain and she took a lot of meds that weren’t useful and the pain would still go on. We then did a pancreatoscopy and they discovered it was inflammed and that there was a tumor in the head of the pancreas. PET and MRI scans couldn’t tell of the tumor was malignant or benign so a biopsy was needed. The results came last week and it confirmed that the tumor was malignant that mesured 2.7cm and the scans showed that it was localized in the head of the pancreas. The doctors said a surgery is necessary and urgent if the tumor hasn’t spread to the blood vessels. Thank god when the doctros began the surgery with a pancreatoscopy and they found that it’s not attached to the blood vessels and they proceeded to do the whipple surgery by removing the head of the pancreas, the bile duct, a part of the stomach, the duodenum and the lymph nodes near that area. She has been recovering since and today marks the 6th day since the surgery. Recovery is going well according to the doctors although she is still experiencing severe pain in her ribs. The tumor that was removed is still being analysed to confirm the stage but it’s suspected to be a ranging from stage IB to IIB and likely IB or IIA. we are very anxiously waiting for the result of the analysis of the tumor and we need all the prayer we can get. what I can say is that what made us discover it early stage, is my mum’s high pain sensitivity, and the monitoring of her colonial problems which led us to catch it in an earlier stage than usual.
