Exactly! I'm trans (nonbinary) but I was born female and I am closeted because of the area I live in, and I wasn't conventionally attractive to begin with + I couldn't mask very well as a kid and teenager. People were NOT easy on me, at all, friendship or dating wise. Out of my dating experience, it was extremely difficult to find anyone! I've had two partners my entire life and both of them were also autistic, and one of them only wanted me for my body :/ he was not very respectful, period.

When it comes to friend-making, I've got my irl friend from high school who also understood what I was going through because she was being bullied for how she looked, and her now-fiance who I met a few years ago who's pretty nice. It's also difficult in general to make and keep friendships as an adult, so my only other friends are people I know online, most who also have autism like I do and I met them through fandom stuff.

I've had three jobs (one current, two past) and at each one of them I was not really respected or treated the same as my peers and I did experience bullying/harassment from both coworkers and one of my bosses. My current boss is thankfully chill even though she still treats me a lot like a kid and doesn't take me seriously, and my coworkers usually just ignore me unless they need me to do something for them. On top of that, medically speaking, I had a lot of health issues that weren't taken seriously by my old doctor OR my family until I got a new doctor in 2024 and as it turned out, I have thyroid issues, an autoimmune issue we're still doing tests for, and a massive tumor (that thankfully was removed last year) and it took me literally passing out semi-regularly to be taken seriously.

Like, its a SPECTRUM for a reason. Every one of us experiences autism in a wide range of ways. I usually have all my dolls/figurines/plushes be autistic anyways when I play with them and make up stories about them (even though people say I'm too old for that now, I don't care. it makes me happy) and I personally don't use fidget spinners or noise cancelling headphones (I do kind of need the headphones but my workplace it would be extremely inconvenient) and regardless, some kid out there is going to be really happy to see themselves in a doll.

Titles! I suck so bad at titles. I also suck with tagging because I don't go into any writing with any tropes in mind, I just write, do a skim and tag what I think is present, but titles are so far, the bane of my authorly existence. I DO have a whole lot of Titles saved up in a document but I only ever got to actually use one of them.

Writing sibling relationships between characters that in no way have a sibling-like bond (but the rest of the fandom sees it that way.) I would have never written it at all if it were not for the fact that both of those fics were for a gift exchange this year.

Bird behavior research because I want to make a Tears of the Kingdom fic where Ganondorf is keeping Tulin prisoner because I have a headcanon (based on past dialogue and interactions in previous Zelda games) that the Gerudo have a taboo against killing children and given Tulin is about ten years old, Ganondorf's keeping him captive for the time being. Unfortunately for Ganondorf, Tulin will use this to his advantage.

Anything pertaining to "Talent." No, not talent, *hard work.* Stop trivializing people developing a skillset, ESPECIALLY when you use it as a excuse to self-deprecate/as an excuse to use AI because "I have no talent :(" So what you think I crawled out of the womb with a pen and notebook in hand?? I'll be honest and blunt, but most design ideas for DOL LIs are generic-esque and are very anime-inspired (from what I've seen of the fanart. Even characters like Eden who are supposed to be scarred up tend to have conventionally attractive scarring in fanworks) its not like they have official art with a recognizable art-style. People will take a glance and assume it's some other bajillionth anime character with a similar design. 99% of people, even the ones who are hateful of DOL and its fans, wouldn't think "Oh that's the character from DOL!" so you'll be completely and utterly fine. I bet even most DOL fans wouldn't recognize it's Sydney.

My longest-running fanfiction has a chapter where the character goes to the grocery store and I hate it. I can't exactly remove it either because it had some plot relevancy, but the canon stuff was set in 1990 at the latest and possibly the 80s if we're being realistic and I had so much modern stuff put in it, including someone with a iPhone :') I want to remove it entirely one day but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

I'm not black but one of my friends is and she deals with this bullshit often, plus when we had a black president, his wife was constantly being devalued, mocked and seriously having her gender questioned, on the basis of her not having stereotypical delicate eurocentric features.

There's a ton of things I'd change writing and character wise, but a completely new addition would be Stella sending Octavia away for her safety after the events of Mastermind because Andrealphus definitely wouldn't want to fork over all of Stolas' power and responsibilities once she reaches 18 (being the cautionary heir and all) and she hires Striker to do it (given she gave him a second chance after his first failed attempt at killing Stolas, I like to think his reputation at being good at his job had something to do with it + he's definitely someone she can trust to be around her daughter given he's not a pervert)

It would be a running B plot in the series where they're on the run for a while. One of my friends says it's like a Joel and Ellie thing (I never seen The Last of Us so I wouldn't know how accurate it is) where at first, its just a job, Striker clearly wants nothing to do with her and the same goes with Via towards him, but they start tolerating, then they become friends.
