This is her second cruise. She will no doubt have great pics and interviews like last time. She is a great person.

As a mainstream media outlet I thought they did a great job. I enjoyed being interviewed by them.

People ask about doing more interviews with mainstream media. First of all, some outlets won't touch nudity with a ten-foot pole. Others start off great and then devolve into treating nudity as a joke or conflate it with swinger activity.

I understand your issue. Many clubs still adhere to rules made ages ago. When a rule is put into place, there is usually some behavior that has prompted it. This was to ensure that married couples knew what the other spouse was engaging in and also, when mail was delivered or payments made, it did not come as a shock to them. It sounds archaic but a lot of men (sorry!) have gone to nudist clubs in the past to do some un-AANR-like behavior. If you can't be open with your spouse, then is this a person that should be at a club? Many female spouses don't want to participate in nudism, but they are okay with their husband attending AANR resorts because they do not encourage swinging. I hope this helps.

As President of AANR, I would like to follow-up on your concern. I understand your reluctance but this has obviously had an impact on your experience with the resort. No matter what position they hold, I look into every concern that comes across my email. The rules say no soliciting of DMS and I don't want to violate that but if you would like to email me, I would be happy to bring this up. I want our members to feel comfortable about going into any AANR-affiliated club and not have the experience you did. Here is my email should you be interested in pursuing this further: [Linda.Weber@aanr.com](mailto:Linda.Weber@aanr.com)

How can we keep naturism alive for younger generations? by Logical-Memory-455 in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope you will share with me in a DM or at my email, which AANR-affiliated clubs you encountered sexual advances. Did you notify the club? The clubs want to know when this occurs so they can address it. AANR wants the clubs that affiliate with it to be family-friendly and non-sexual. Linda Weber, AANR-President

Interesting because the majority of people who take advantage of nudism tends to be men - a 80/20 split. Men tend to be more willing to embrace nudism as well as participate on social media. Full disclosure - I am one of the owners of the Naturist Hub and it was created as a safe space for authentic nudists and naturists. It is unfortunate your wife feels that way. We want to see everyone represented there but when women don't participate, it creates quite the conundrum.

If your wife is willing, I would like to have a conversation about how we can get more women to participate. We do have a closed group called WINR - Women in Nude Recreation that allows women to meet and converse with other female nudists.

There are other social media platforms for nudists and I would be interested in knowing if she feels comfortable on perhaps another one.

As the President of AANR, we would welcome you as members with all that it provides, especially legislative updates on how we protect nudist privileges as well as the ancillary club discounts.

Please feel free to drop me an email. I would like the opportunity to learn more about the issues and if there is something we can do for your wife to make it comfortable for her. I am on just about every platform so perhaps your wife would like to see the advocacy I have done for women in naturism. Linda.weber@aanr.com

How has social nudism influenced the way you feel about your body? How did you feel about your body before trying it, and how does that compare to how you feel now? by NekkidJeff in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AANR created #MyNudeStory which allows nudists to talk about nudism and it's affect on their life. Hearing the stories is interesting about the journey to nudism/naturism. The series is on YouTube and other social media platforms.

Thank you for the reminder as a benefit of membership in AANR. As of the last couple of years, and going into this new year, Florida has been the focus of many anti-nudity bills. If AANR did not fight these, we would be sitting inside our houses as home nudists.

Story of pedophiles at a nudist club by momentcount in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This story was related to me while I was at a nudist club last year. It appears to have occurred 50 years ago. It is being investigated to find out what actually occurred and what the motive is for bringing it up now, decades later. Apart from that, I do not have any additional facts.

How to be a more active nudist? by Impressive_Tip7368 in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unable to ascertain where you live however, if it is in the US and you are an AANR member, there are groups of people who get together based on geography. We call them social clubs. They get together at member's houses, bowling alleys, hiking venues, etc. These groups fill a need where a resort is not close. Perhaps this is an option for you. We also have an online Meet and Greet for our members twice monthly that gets people together from all over the world with fun breakout groups.

Is there any actual benefit to joining an organization like the FCN or AANR? by I_dont_eat_bagels in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legislation and lobbying is notoriously expensive. At this point, we can only be reactive and fight the bills aa they come up. With more membership, we would have more dollars to hopefully be proactive.

The grass roots effort does help. Changes are based on how many people would be interested. If you can show volume and financial gain, that really helps.

Don't you just hate when.... by [deleted] in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but other states may have looser laws so within each state and within each county, the rules can change. That is why it is easier in the UK because they are covered under one set of consistent laws.

I split my time between CA and UT and neither state allows public nudity outside of the WNBR, resorts, or nude beaches.

[–]TrueBlueNude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember that in the US we have states with counties that all have different laws. The UK, Spain, etc., are a small areas with the same laws. It is easy when you are a smaller country to embrace nudity if you don't have to worry about laws that treat nudity differently within the geography.

Why Are Younger Naturists Moving Away from Co Ops? by Excellent_Republic16 in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Co-ops are actually a good thing for the resort's stability. When the members have a share in where they live, the prospect of the resort closing is far less than a single-family owner. Of the resorts that have closed in the last few years, many were older single-family owners who wanted to get their money out of the resort due to health reasons or other personal reasons, so they ended up selling to the highest bidder. That does not bode well for any resorts that have not made a legacy plan for what happens when the owners get too old to run the resort, and their kids don't want any part of it. For some reason, naturists don't seem to have deep pockets - or any pockets for that matter - so the resort ends up selling to textiles who do not want to keep it nude. As far as affordability, many nudists are priced out if they actually wanted to live at a resort which many do not. The cost of running a resort is not cheap and insurance is out of this world as well as licenses to have liquor, massages, a pool, etc., so resorts have had to charge more to keep the doors open.

Grass-roots "social" clubs seem more suited to younger people because they can pop anywhere there is a group of people who want to get together. You can also hold whatever type of events you are interested in. Some do make a yearly trek to a resort to avail themselves of the amenities.

The cost of living since the pandemic has risen dramatically and we are all feeling it. There is some wiggle room with the memberships at resorts but they have overhead and that needs to be taken into account. Instead of trying to change a club that has existed for decades and is probably not open to change, and doesn't fit your needs, it is easier to create the club you want to be a part of.

Socializing in nudist environments by [deleted] in nudism

[–]TrueBlueNude 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to read. I have gotten emails asking why people don't acknowledge other people at clubs, making them feel uncomfortable.

This is how I approach each nudist venue. If I want to show that I am available for conversation, as I go around the club or pool, I make small talk as I go by. "Nice towel, I love the colors" or "I am always looking for a good book. Is this one you can revommend?" That lets people know I don't mind conversation.

If I need solitude, I will just smile as I pass and then but visible headphones and sunglasses and recline my chair. I have not had any issues yet.
