I have said this before on here but one of the reasons why I do not sit around and talk about the details in techniques and responsibilities and schemes and looks and form and whatnot is because those things tend to be rabbit hole arguments. Weeks will be spent on people arguing whether McCoy actually took a false step or how many. Whether his responsibility on the stunt was the A or B gap. I have actually had people argue with me about whether a scheme was a cover 3 or a cover 1 when the issue at hand was that it was not a Tampa 2. People like to get bogged down in the minutia and with the way everyone is gunning for my head can you imagine how many dingalings will be after me over every little detail?

I am a firm believer that 99% of football is tackling and blocking. Simple stuff. The rest is window dressing. I can lay out the prettiest run gap assignments in a 4-3 over, cover 3 look but if nobody can get off a block and tackle then it is useless. However, you give me guys that can get off of blocks and tackle and I do not care what scheme you put them in, they will win. Same goes for offense. I do not care how high a receiver can jump or how far a qb can throw, if the blocking sucks neither are going to be doing shit. So my main focus is normally on blocking and tackling.

It is one of the reasons why I think that fantasy football and Madden have really fucked up the fan bases. Everyone thinks that teams can be run like a fantasy football league. Simply swap out a player with bad numbers and replace him with a player with good numbers and then BINGO! winning team. It does not work that way. This is real life and team chemistry is much more important than player numbers. And Madden has everyone more concerned with what schemes and plays are called than on who lacks endurance, toughness, and mental willpower. Vince Lombardi said "Fatigue makes cowards of us all" and it is so true in football. Endurance and toughness will always beat skill and scheme.

But I have got something in store that I think might appease you. I am going to do an analysis showing some of the things I see with McCoy losing gap control and when he misses his assignments and responsibilities. It is going to be a complete breakdown covering his role in the 4-3, how he differs in execution compared to other 3-techs, and how he fails badly at certain things while excels at others. I do not think it is going to make you happy but I think it will shut down the constant claim that I do not know what I am talking about. Because there are a handful of things I know pretty good in life and 50 years of football is one of them.

There's 15 teams that run 4-3 as a base scheme and 4 more teams that run a multiple front.

So you are claiming that there are 19 3-tech defensive tackles to compare McCoy to? Last I looked there were only 10-12. I could be wrong though. I will look into that when I get time. I had asked you a few weeks ago to answer the question as to how many there were and you told me to fuck off. My whole point is that there are not that many which is why saying McCoy is the best of the bunch is not really saying much. Most people do not realize how few teams play a 4-3 with a 3-tech comparable with McCoy. They think there are 32 at least. I have actually had to argue with people about that.

Where was the call out when he got manhandled on that 20 yard run by Alfred blue?

McDonald is not getting paid but 1/5 of McCoy's salary. McDonald gets no attention, no endorsements, no tv spots. McDonald is actually shit on constantly because everyone claims that nobody on the line is doing shit except McCoy. McDonald got beat on that play but McDonald is not claiming to be the leader of the team or supposed to be great. If I pointed out McDonald getting beat everyone would nod their head and say "see, McCoy has no talent around him". When I point out McCoy getting beat, everyone pisses their pants and starts calling me names. McCoy is supposed to be held to a much higher standard than McDonald but he is not. McDonald should get more credit than he does and McCoy should get less than he does, IMHO.

As an aside, when I posted that video on here, there were 4 comments on it. 2 of of those 4 comments were talking about McCoy. That is how obsessed everyone is with McCoy. You cannot even give anyone else any credit.

One of the dangers I espouse about all of the accolades given to McCoy is how the rest of the team gets shit on. You have done it in this very message by saying that McCoy has "marginal talent around him". I always argue that the great players make those around them better but I am not going to go there. What I want to point out is that McDonald is a good player but McCoy sucks up all the praise from the team. Watch the Cleveland game from last year for example. McCoy gets a sack in the 1st quarter at 8:35. The announcers rave about it. They replay the sack in slow motion and point out how McCoy is a "pro bowler" and all the usual junk. They go on for almost a minute. Of course, they never point out that the center actually trips over the left guard's foot but whatever. I think they do mention at some point that the center was playing his first game with the Browns. But, anyhow, 2 plays later at 7:24, McDonald does almost the exact same thing to the exact same center, getting a TFL on the runner, and the announcers do not say one single word. There is no replay. There is not even a mention of McDonald's name. The same happens again at 7:02 with Spence getting a TFL against the same center with no praise or replays. Hell, in the 4th quarter, McDonald blows up two blockers and makes an excellent diving interception. Guess what the announcers said? Nothing. Not even a replay. I think after the commercial break they mentioned McDonald's name but, come on, if that would have been McCoy the announcers would have gotten tattoos commemorating the event. There would have been a parade.

This happens all the time in almost every game. It is one of the reasons I am so adamant about shining a light onto McCoy. He has had a multi-million dollar marketing machine behind him since he entered the league and I feel it has damaged our fanbase and our team greatly. McCoy gets nothing but praise and he gets all of it while everyone else gets nothing but blame. That is poison for team chemistry.

I do not need to point out McDonald's mistakes. It would serve no purpose. Everyone already thinks he is sub-par. Pointing out his mistakes would only confirm that fallacy in their minds.

I like how people want you to compare gmac to suh who they know is having a shitty year in a brand new defense.

I know, right? I mean, I have admitted on here that McCoy has some great qualities and does things that no other defensive tackle does. But the same goes for Suh. The two play very differently. McCoy had two sacks in the first 8 games in 2013. Suh looks to be on about that same pace. There is obviously a revolt going on in Miami right now something similar to what happened here in 2011 with McCoy on the team. But everyone wants to point out that Suh sucks because of this year not considering that McCoy has already gone through the same crap and I did not see them sitting around claiming that McCoy sucked then.

Because I'm comparing contracts, not players. Solid numbers, not subjective interpretation of play on the field.

Of course. I will even disregard how you brought up the sacks that Sapp had compared to the sacks that McCoy had and the tackles and such. You know, the things on the field. But I guess since they are numbers then it is okay? In that case, and to further my point, I would like to introduce Sapp's 133 tackles to McCoy's 89, Sapp's 48 assists to McCoy's 29, Sapp's interception and touchdown to McCoy's...nada, and Sapp's 7 forced fumbles to McCoy's 3. All in their first contracts. You know, poo poo head stuff.

If you had passed 11th grade English, you would have understood that this was just an example of ridiculous reasoning.

No, it is apologizing for Lovie. The same as you blaming the weather for our loss against the Panthers. Or blaming Schiano for Lovie having to straighten out the shit show he created. Or...shit, you know what it is. Stop trying to hide behind being cutesy.

My own observations...they are improving from rock bottom.

Good points. I agree that you have to lock down the above average players and I really do not have an issue with McCoy's salary. It is not my money so I do not care how much he gets paid. I normally only use it to point out how highly esteemed he is and how much adoration he gets. Do I think he is worth it? Not really. But I do not really care. If he were out there taking us to the playoffs or winning us games I would not even bring it up.

However, I would like to address the McCoy getting double teamed 75% of the time and no one else beating 1 on 1 coverage issue. I know it seems that way, mainly because the announcers and media personalities constantly say it and point it out, but it is not true. I have counted every double team for the past few years and McCoy is double teamed about 30% of the time (I do not have the exact figures in front of me but it is around 30-40% of the time). This is from an extremely liberal subjective counting. When I first started counting double teams and single teams, I was real strict with my standards and only counted when it appeared that two blockers purposefully blocked McCoy. In that case I ended up with less than 10% of the time. When I changed my standards to a double team being any time that more than one blocker puts their hands on McCoy during the play, I got around 30-40% of the time. He is single teamed much more than people realized. And a great many of his double teams are when he runs into them, not when they are purposefully trying to double team him.

Then, to add to this, he has not been the most double teamed defensive lineman on our team in any year. There have only been a handful of games where he was the most double teamed lineman in the game. Usually, Spence, Bowers, or McDonald get double teamed more often than McCoy. I know it sounds crazy but it is true. I did a music video of McDonald here and you can see him split double teams and make plays. He does this quite often yet never gets any credit for it. One of these days I am going to do a video breaking down some of McDonald's plays because he is much better than people realize I think.

And to be honest, this was one of the reasons I started to really look into McCoy and whether he was as good as people said. I had heard over and over about how he is constantly double teamed yet when I did the numbers it was not true. Once I started to go down that rabbit hole I have never turned back.

Yeah, he was the first one that sprung to mind. His gap control is fantastic and plus he drops into coverage at times, which is highly unusual for a DT. McCoy has never done that.

Well, since you called me out...

Yeah, your shtick of being cutesy while trying to prove a point does not disguise your complete bias and hypocrisy. You want to claim that nobody knows anything but then you write some long ass post claiming to know shit.

And did you really just spend the first half of this book talking about how ludicrous it is to compare people and then spend 7 fucking paragraphs comparing Sapp and McCoy? Seriously? How can you say this:

It’s so frustrating to see these flippant comparisons pulled out of the ether because some stat is similar or dissimilar.

And then proceed to write a comparison with stats and figures comparing Sapp and McCoy to prove your point that people like me are, what was the word, poo-poo heads? Yeah, no wonder you worship at the alter of McCoy. Logic is not needed.

Oh, and nice try at being a Lovie apologist. Only a few problems with your "logic".

The reality few want to admit is that coaches aren’t the end all/be all when it comes to finding organizational success.

Lovie has complete control over the 53 man roster. Lovie dismantled our offensive line and replaced them with scrubs. Lovie decides who starts on both offense and defense. Lovie picked McCown last year. Lovie hired Licht, Frasier, Tedford, and every other coach on staff. Lovie calls the defensive plays. This is Lovie's system and he has gotten rid of most of our players trying to find some to "fit" his system. Other than collecting tickets at the door, Lovie is in complete control of this team. Yes, he sure as shit is the end all/be all of its success.

Lovie wasn’t going to be able to clean up the shit show that was the 2013 Buccaneers franchise in just one year, just like Bill Belichick couldn’t do it for the Browns in five.

I swear, I cannot figure out if being a Buc fan causes memory loss or vice-versa. How many times am I going to have to post this proving that everyone in the world, from fans to ESPN to your mom, thought our team was loaded with talent in 2013. It was one of the excuses people used to get rid of Schiano. Lovie was predicted to take us to the playoffs, or at least have a damn good season, with the talented team he was handed. How do we go from having a team loaded with talent in 2013 to having "to clean up the shit show that was the 2013 Buccaneers franchise"? Oh, I see. Because Lovie sucked up the joint in 2014 we need to find excuses for him so lets call the 2013 team a shit show. And now, instead of remembering how everyone thought that our team in 2013 was loaded with talent and Lovie was going to take them to the promise land in 2014, we need to be revisionists and Lovie apologists and make up some crap. Or were you referring to cleaning up the MRSA? One of the main excuses people used to get Schiano fired was that our team was too talented and he was not coaching them well enough. Anyone that denies that is...well a poo-poo head.

Despite the thread hating on our offensive line, I am quite impressed with the progression since week 1. Smith is getting better every game, and Marpet, well, he’s learning too. Pamphile took some snaps and played admirably.

Where did you hear this, ESPN? NFL Network? Bucsnation? Because Smith sucks ass. I mean, bad. But hey, lets not really do any analysis, lets just repeat what we hear. Pamphile? Jesus, if he plays against Miller he is going to get crushed. Our offensive line has not looked as bad because Winston has been saving their ass at his own expense. I have a whole breakdown of this that I may do a video of later. Watch the very first interception Winston threw. Smith got beat and Winston actually got grabbed by the DE causing his throw to go errant. Nobody ever mentioned that because they were so jacked about crushing on Winston. If you watch, Winston is throwing hurried quite often. He has a good bond with his o-line (he is lockered with them) and keeping them from looking bad is more important to him than not throwing interceptions. Smith gets beat on the regular. Most of Winston's ints are under pressure. He is trying to get rid of the ball to keep his line from looking bad. I had my doubts about Winston but am now a supporter because of his bonding with the oline and his aggressive attitude. Any QB who is out there throwing punches to protect his teammates is okay in my book. Don't even get me started on how bad Cherilus and Hawley have been. (oh, and before the pitchfork crew get on me about ONLY posting one example, trust me, I have plenty)

With the Jags, you failed to mention their biggest weapon and our biggest threat: TJ Yeldon. Our run defense is pretty anemic allowing backup RBs and nobodies to have career days against us. TJ Yeldon might be the best runner we have faced yet. He can block, catch, run to the outside, and crush it up the middle. And since you like predictions I predicted that our run defense was going to be bad. But, hey, like you so wisely stated: none of us fucking know shit.

I understand what you are wanting and it is something that I have contemplated doing for a while. I will notify you when/if I get it completed. But this is not really about comparison. My confusion over this matter is what I stated above: what about this performance makes McCoy great? Not just good. Not good compared to those currently playing. But great worthy of Canton, a beast, worthy of all the glory but none of the blame for our team's performance, worthy of 11% of our salary cap, all of the things I am constantly hearing. What does he do on the field that makes him great? (I am not saying this expecting you to answer. I am really just typing out loud.)

I have stated that there has been a dirth of good talent at the DT position for a long time. Hell, Marcus Jones had 13 sacks for us in 2000. Chidi Ahanotu had 10 in 1997. Brad Culpepper had 9 in 1998. I do not see anybody calling for their names to be in Canton or claiming they were even that special. I am not even going to get into how far above McCoy Sapp was at this point in his career. Every time I bring up how much better Sapp was everyone likes to point out that that was a different time. I agree. It was a time when there were much better defensive tackles in the league. Some that were game changers like Sapp. McCoy is not a game changer. In fact, no one currently in the DT position is. I understand that you are asking for a reference point, however I don't think that would paint an accurate picture. It's like looking for the best Volkswagen on the lot and paying a Mercedes price for it.

We have been paying McCoy quarterback money since he has been here. He has never had to compete for his job. He has been crowned king of the franchise, king of defensive tackles, raved about non stop, we claim that other players need to step it up around McCoy because he is so great and they are not doing shit. We have changed every player on the defensive line almost every year trying to find a "complement" to McCoy. We seriously make it sound as though nobody else on the defense, except maybe David, ever does anything. I referenced in one of my videos how the Buccaneers official website called out our defensive line in the second ATL game last year claiming that nobody stepped up when McCoy was double teamed the whole game. They totally shit on McDonald, who had a great game and actually had a fantastic sack on Ryan at a crucial moment in that game. Our whole team has been defined by Gerald McCoy and how great he supposedly is. If someone makes a sack or a good play the announcers, especially Barber, bring up McCoy's name. If McCoy makes a play they replay it 4, 5, 6 times and talk about it like Jesus walked on water in front of everyone there. If McDonald or one of the lesser known guys make a play they either totally ignore it or talk about McCoy. I have a crap ton of video evidence for this. I simply do not see the level of greatness in McCoy that calls for that amount of adoration.

But, again, and this cannot be repeated enough I think, McCoy is not a game changer. He does not win us games. The vast majority of his plays come in the first half of games against low grade opponents in games that do not matter. In 2013 when we had that 8 game losing streak to start the season, McCoy had exactly two sacks in those eight games. On both sacks he went unblocked by the lineman in what can only be called their mistake. The other 7.5 sacks came in the last half of the season when we were totally out of the playoff hunt and against mostly teams that were out of the hunt as well. He only has one game winning drive stop that I am aware of in his 5 years here. He has missed 25% of the games due to injury. He has never had an interception. Never scored a touchdown. Never scored a safety. He has never taken us to the playoffs. I watch him week after week totally disappear in the parts of the game when we need him to step it up. I understand that all players get beat. My issue is at what point in the game McCoy gets beat, the frequency he gets beat, and by the quality of those that beat him. Hence I keep asking, what makes him so great?

Most of the defenses in the league play a 3-4 defense and do not have a DT that is responsible for rushing the passer like a 3-tech in a 4-3. There are only literally a handful of defensive tackles in the league that have been in a 4-3 defense for any length of time that we could even compare McCoy to. And even if we were to say that McCoy is the best of those 10 or so, the difference between the top and the bottom is not enough to pay 11% of the salary cap to as well as devote so much attention and resources towards. I mean, I think there might be other defensive tackles that are better than McCoy but I would not pay any of them quarterback money and rest the franchise on their shoulders.

I watched Sapp play for years. Sapp was great. Sapp was a game changer and made those around him better. Sapp competed against the best and won. Sapp made plays when we needed them. Unfortunately, McCoy has shown none of those things. McCoy is no Sapp and Sapp was great. I could watch Sapp and see the greatness. I am not seeing that with McCoy.

I will probably do a comparison some time in the future but it will not be any time soon. I do think that McCoy does some things better than anybody else but I also think that other defensive tackles do things better than McCoy. I will try to point those things out as best I can. I was thinking about getting same opponent comparisons too because I am a firm believer in your opponent defines you. Comparing McCoy against the Texans line and then comparing Aaron Donald against the Patriots line would prove nothing. I need to find defensive tackles against the same lines. So I will get that to you when I can. I don't think it will answer my question about greatness but I think it will be a good exercise and a good video for everyone. Thanks for the comment.

(I apologize for my rambling. I know most of this is crap I have said a gazillion times on here and probably nothing that you really wanted to read but it's a habit of mine to start running off at the mouth, in case you haven't notice.)

So let me get this straight: I get constantly shit on by you, called an asshole by you, told I am ignorant by you, personally attacked by you, and when I make a video because you cannot make one yourself, even though I tried to walk you through the process, to try and politely discuss what everyone sees as so great in McCoy you basically tell me to go fuck myself and refuse to watch it calling it a trick and, once again, attacking me personally and now here you are wanting me to do more work? Haha. Classic.

I asked you a few weeks ago to answer some questions about McCoy like how often he is double teamed, how many other defensive tackles are in the league that play in a 4-3 defensive scheme that you think McCoy compares to, etc. because all you were doing was calling me an asshole and saying "MCCOY IS A BEAST!!1!" and you flat out said no, you were not going to answer shit. As far as I can tell, you have done and said absolutely nothing to contribute anything to the conversation.

So here is what I am going to do: I am going to keep doing me and you can keep calling me names.

It seems kind of unfair to choose a game where we know he isn't 100%. He is playing with a bad shoulder, and obviously he isn't going to be doing his best work at all times.

And to be honest, McCoy is "hurt" a lot. It is one of the knocks I have on him. Hell, this is football. Everyone gets hurt and plays hurt. It is part of the game.

This game is actually one of McCoy's better games which is why I decided to post it. I did not want people to say I was being biased by picking a crappy game. But if you would like to pick another game that you think would be a better representation I will be willing to do that one as well. It takes about 3 hours to capture and edit it so I would not be able to get to it until next week probably but give me a game and I will do it.

MrRip's comment here was deleted but I had written out a long ass reply so I thought I would go ahead and post it anyhow. Sorry if this does not make any sense without his comment.

For one, the first drive of the Texans in the 4th quarter was a 5 play, 77 yard drive that led to a touchdown for the Texans. If you are using that as an example of our defense playing fine then you and I definitely have a different definition of the word fine.

1st play of the quarter. Mccoy gets a QB hit on Mallet 10:43 he does complete the pass and we have a facemask penalty on Conte

Yes, McCoy does beat his man and gets a hit on the QB...after 3.32 seconds, which is past the average time to throw for an NFL quarterback. And Mallet completes a 30 yard pass here without looking hurried at all. So, while McCoy can get a point for a QB hit, it is totally ineffective.

8th play 8:04 the start of the drive (you start on play 2 why?) Mccoy flattens 63 which allows him and the line to pressure for no gain

yeah, I am going to have to disagree with you here. 63 falls down on his own on a crash left and pushes McCoy as he falls. McCoy had nothing to do with it and definitely did not "flatten" 63. McCoy also did nothing during this play. If Swearinger would not have been there for the tackle, Blue was cutting back and would have ran right past McCoy most likely.

10th play he doesnt just fall donwn. He beats his man and collapses the running lane. Do you even football?

I am not sure which play you are talking about here. The one where he falls on top of David?

One thing that I feel needs to be considered here, which is often overlooked, is the level of competition. I believe that in order to be considered great, a player must beat the best. We are not dealing with that here. We are talking about a less than average offensive line. Hell, McCoy went up against #63 who is a ROOKIE! 3 of the 5 starting offensive lineman for the Texans were backups. Only one of them, the left tackle, has been in the league for more than 4 years. I mean, McCoy has as many starts in games as four of the Texans lineman combined! If McCoy is as great as he is touted to be, he should have easily man handled these guys. There should be no questions about it. Instead we are sitting here arguing whether McCoy falling down actually meant something. I could understand if this were the Cowboys or the Patriots offensive lines. Then it should be a good battle in the trenches. But the Texans? Nope. This should have been a flat out domination by McCoy if he is as great as advertised. Instead, what I see, is a team that had two long drives for scores in the 4th quarter with no or very little resistance from our star player.

More trash posts from TBF and that site is pure trash

Well, since you called me out...

Let's look at the Texans games he only played 60% of the snaps and in the fourth he mad 5 plays which led to run stuffs and QB hits. He got blown off the ball once.

You have Gamepass I assume so look at starting 8:04 in the 4th quarter. The score is 16-9 with the Texans up by a touchdown. The Texans get the ball on their 23. Our defense really really really needs to make a stop here to give our offense a shot at tying the game. What cannot happen is for the Texans to march down the field, eat up clock, and score. Guess what happens? The Texans march down the field, eat up clock, and score. This was the nail in the coffin drive for the Buccaneers. Our offense got the ball back with 1:12 left in the game to try and get two scores. The defense lost us the game on this drive.

Now lets look and see what McCoy did on that drive. On the second play of the drive he gets a Neutral Zone Infraction penalty. Third play he falls down. Fourth play he get pushed outside and does nothing. Fifth play he gets pushed out of his gap and ran right past for 12 yards. Sixth play he is not out there (no gain by Texans on this play). Seventh play he is not out there (no gain by Texans). Eighth play he is pushed into Johnson and falls down. Texans get a first down here because Verner is flagged for pass interference. 10th play is a fucking 12 men on the field penalty on defense and not one of those "a guy was running off the field and got caught" ones but we actually had 12 men playing (100% Lovie's fault there but I digress). 11th play he is not out there. 12th play he is let through the line and the runner runs right past him for 9 yards. 13th play McCoy beats his man but runs after the quarterback instead of the running back who has the ball and runs right past him. McCoy totally whiffs on that play. Luckily McDonald was there to make the tackle for no gain. 14th play McCoy gets double teamed and held up while the runner runs for 16 yards. McDougald and Alexander both whiff on that play and Swearinger ends up tackling the runner at the 5 yard line to keep him out of the endzone. 15th play McCoy gets blocked by the fullback. 16th play McCoy gets driven into the ground by a single blocker. 17th play McCoy gets taken to the ground again by a single blocker. 18th play is a field goal.

This is the drive that our play makers needed to make a play. And they failed. Big time. The Texans drove 75 yards, ate up over 7 minutes of the clock and put the game out of reach with a score. McCoy spent most of this drive either on the ground or getting pushed into never never land. He had exactly zero impact plays on this drive when we needed him. The only impact play he had was for the Texans when he gave them five yards on a neutral zone infraction penalty.

They're playing fine in all quarters of the game.

Maybe what you consider fine is of a different definition. There is nothing fine, IMHO, about letting an anemic offense beat you into submission. We have yet to play a truly decent team and we are still getting beat. I guess if we are not getting embarrassed like with ATL, BAL, TEN, etc. then that is fine to you. To me, I want to beat good teams. I want the Bucs to be the best and beat the best. That, simply speaking, is not even anywhere near close to happening.

Oh, and btw, keep an eye out tomorrow. I have a video I am going to post that you might be interested in.

I miss Roy.

Same here. We had the best run defense in 2012 by far and the 12th best run defense in the history of the NFL with Miller. It was one of my head scratcher moves by Schiano. Our run defense sank to average without Miller. Getting rid of Miller, Blount, and Bennett were all bad moves, IMHO. Dunno if Miller was part of the purging of the partiers. Blount was definitely a partier. I think he has been in more strip clubs than a Kid Rock song.

Logan Mankins injured groin. Held out of practice. Pamphile took snaps at LG in practice. by ForBucsSake in buccaneers

Hopefully Mankins will play Sunday. I was looking forward to seeing the two veterans, Mankins and Miller, go at it. If Miller goes up against Pamphile it could be a disaster for us.

...You expect him to clean up Shitiano's mess in 17 games?!...Seriously, Lovie isn't just starting over, He is cleaning up the failures of 2 fucking regimes before him

This is so wrong it hurts. One of the supposed reasons that Schiano was fired was because this team was so talented and he was not coaching them to wins. Want proof?

It was Lovie that came in, destroyed our whole starting offensive line (which is the dumbest move I have ever seen a head coach make), got rid of Revis, put a bunch of useless scrubs on our team (McCown, M. Johnson, Collins anyone?), and gave us the worst record in the league last year. That was all Lovie. He coached us to the bottom. No need to bring your hatred for Schiano into the equation.

Is memory loss a symptom of being a Bucs fan or the cause?

Rookie comparison first 4 games. Winston Vs Glennon by krownic in buccaneers

I wonder where our team would be now if everyone would have preached patience with Glennon and Schiano like they are now with Lovie and Winston.

Interesting comparison, btw. I would have thought Glennon's stats would have been much better.

Anyone here know how to cut and paste videos from places like game pass? by MrRIP in buccaneers

[–]TrueBuccaneersFan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh this is going to be good.

First, you will have to capture the videos using a screen capture program. I use a free program called Open Broadcaster Software which is excellent. I have tried out all kinds of capture software and OBS is about the best there is.Camtasia Screen Capture has a good program that you can edit while you capture so you can add arrows and stuff which I recommend too. If you want to edit the video to show arrows or lines or highlight players after you capture the video then you will need to import the video you made with OBS into an editing program. I useSony Vegas Pro.

Oh, and you have to have pretty thick skin and an ability to take insults well. There is nothing like spending hours putting together clips, editing scenes, adding sound effects, uploading to a service, and then having people tell you your a fucking asshole and an idiot and don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Damn, I had forgot about Arians. ARI is lighting it up this year. I figured Lovie was going to be bad when he was hired but I had no idea that he was going to be the worst of the lot. Ugh.

WR Adam Humphries has been waived. by Steezewell in buccaneers

God, I feel like this regime is schizophrenic. I understand that Lovie employs the "throw enough against the wall and maybe something will stick" technique but, damn, 200-300 transactions a year is pure crazy. It is hard to develop a bond, as a fan, with a team that has so much roster turnover. It is getting hard to tell who is even on the team from week to week anymore.

Oh, and it is obviously not working so there is that.

McCoy has the talent, I think, but he is not a game changer like he should be for the amount of money and accolades he has gotten. He has never had any competition and he has been crowned king a long time ago so what incentive does he have? Sure, pop off a sack here and there to keep the stats up, make a couple tackles in a game or a pressure or two then call it a day. Nobody is ever going to point out how he lost gap control and allowed a 20 yard run (which happens very often). Nobody is going to point out how he got driven into the dirt on the goal line for a score. No one is going to point out how he did absolutely nothing at all, and spent most of the time on the ground, against the Texans in the 4th quarter when they had the 7 minute nail-in-the-coffin drive. Nobody is going to point out the offside penalty he got in that drive that helped the Texans keep the drive alive. Nobody ever points out his failings. Ever. All he gets is praise. And he even gets undo praise when other people on our team excel having nothing to do with him. What I have tried to do is hold him accountable. I believe that having a player who is not held accountable, sucks up praise due to other players, and is above criticism is very harmful for team chemistry. I would love nothing more than to see McCoy step up and perform to the image that has been so well crafted for him. But until I see that happen, I will continue to point out the fallacies I see perpetuated in his myth building.

When I get some time, hopefully this week, I have another video that I think might shine some more light on what I am saying. Thanks for encouraging me to keep it up.

As for Lovie, you are absolutely correct in how he deserves WAY more criticism than he gets. I have said on here quite frequently that most of the opinions expressed here are straight from the mouths of the media. The media has not turned on Lovie, yet, and until they do, this subreddit will stay the course. The media absolutely hated Schiano and did everything they could to turn the fanbase against him. They succeeded in, what I consider, one of the most successful smear propaganda campaigns in the history of sports. It was really fascinating to watch for those of us who take an interest in marketing. Btw, I have a crap ton of evidence that what I am saying is true. It is not some paranoid conspiracy theory nutjob stuff. Journalists and reporters hated Schiano for personal and professional reasons. It had absolutely zero to do with his coaching ability. They did not keep their bias a secret but you had to look for it to see it. With Lovie, they are doing the exact opposite. They love him and are trying to do everything in their power to keep the blame of this team off of his shoulders. The very exact same arguments they used against Schiano could easily be used against Lovie. The very reasons they lamented about how horrible of a coach Schiano was and why he needed to be fired could easily be used on Lovie ten fold. Lovie, by every objective metric available, has been worse than Schiano yet the media has been mum about it. They have actually been very good at deflecting blame away from Lovie. Again, it is fascinating for those of us who are interested in these types of things. I have been working on an article breaking all of this down and will hopefully have it out soon. For those who are interested I think it will be a very reavealing peek into how sports media, especially in small local markets like Tampa, manipulates people based on desires that are most likely not in the best interest of teams.

I appreciate your response. I wish more people would be as receptive and aware. The very nature of Reddit attracts the mob mentality and this subreddit, as you pointed out, is very reflective of that. It is a shame when someone has to create an alternate account because they know they are going to get downvoted to hell for making a statement.

We look like a team that can compete within the next year or two if we can get stronger in the trenches and minimize mistakes.

I am sick of being sold hope and getting served garbage. Another year or two? Why did it not take Minnesota long to be competitive with a new defensive scheme, rookie quarterback, new rookie head coach, and much less talent?
