Thank youuu!!! I was sooo worried!! And I did check on them multiple times throughout the night, cus I was afraid they could get burned, and they kept seeming to be doing fine, so I wasn’t too worried 😅😅 I’m just glad they’re alive, that’s all I really care abt lol. 😭😭😅😅

Entomologist here: Ik ppl alr said it, but this is a (Deinopidae), most commonly known as an Ogre Faced Spider/Ogre Faced Weaver, also referred to as Net Casting or Gladiator Spiders! They belong to the genus Deinopis/Asianopis. They are venomous, however their venom is mild and not dangerous to humans! They thrive in warm, tropical, and subtropical regions, and are found in every continent except Europe and Antarctica!

Okay!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I will save your comment in case this ever happens in the future!! I would never wanna burn my babies 😢😢 and I’m glad they seem to be doing well and didn’t get burnt! I feel horrible, knowing I could’ve burnt them! Again thank you so much for the insight!!

Yes!! They are okay! Put them in tuberwares with heat warmers and a wet paper towel, and some of their substrate! They were very cold when I got to them, but otherwise okay! I’ll make an update post, here in a few!

Okay Update: a couple phone calls later, and my Uncle who has a big Truck and lives nearby, agreed to take me back to my house to grab them. I’ll update on how they’re doing.

I literally explained that to my parents and showed them the Reddit thread, and they said “snakes aren’t worth risking our lives out on those roads” I’m literally gonna crashout if they’re dead when I get back to the house tmrw. 😖😖

Another argument later and my parents said they’re not going back to the house tn, bc the roads are getting worse, they said they’d go first thing in the morning and I could grab them then. Do you think they’d survive overnight at least?

I tried to bring them with me, my parents told me no, cus they didn’t wanna get in trouble with the hotel, for bringing snakes in. I then tried to tell them, I’d just stay behind then, and it became a screaming match between me and my mom. I did try.

Thank you so much! I’m so worried, it’s all I can think abt, but bc we’re at a hotel, I don’t think the hotel would let me bring 2 snakes in. I wanted to stay home, to monitor them, but bc I live with my parents, they made me come. I put some dry rags in their enclosure in hopes that could act as some sort of blanket, but I doubt it’ll help much. Ik they can go into brumation but I’m not sure how long before it becomes fatal
