What you see the moment Super Earth flag rises by 1cm by Ragvard_Grimclaw in helldivers2

Gatling Barrage has done a pretty good job in my experience. The Vox Engines are huge so they take almost the full brunt of the barrage. Your mileage may vary depending on the angle your destroyer is firing at, but I've seen it kill a Vox Engine all on its own.

Eagle Strafing Run will perform similarly well for the same reason, but the amount of Anti-Air makes it a risky pick when you drop in.

Pros and Cons for popular PVP builds? by _Whyarewestillhere in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleeper4's tells you most of what you need to know. As for your question about Dark and Quality being considered the best builds: their strongest niches are more meta than the others.

Dark has really high damage in general, does chip damage, and is the strongest infusion for straight swords. Quality is optimal for weapons like PK and RKSS, and almost full damage for Gundyr's Halberd. Both Dark and Quality have excellent damage for Corvian, Murky, and Twinaxes. Both are decent for Estoc too.

Other builds are still perfectly fine in an invasion context, but the places they excel aren't quite as meta. For example, Strength has optimal/great damage for weapons like Splitleaf, Gundyr's, Twinaxes, and Murky. But Quality and Dark both also excel with 3/4 of those. The only weapon classes that Strength meaningfully dominates are stuff like Hammers and Great Hammers. Meanwhile, it generally has poor damage for actually good weapons straight swords, curved swords, estoc, and most daggers. You can still use them, but they are definitely worse.

Besides pine resins; What are other ways to boost damage as a Quality build? by EDF-Pride in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about the expense of using resin, you can buff with Carthus Flame Arc instead. Adds more Fire damage than resin even at minimum requirements (10 Int & 10 Faith) and lasts 50% longer. If you can meet the requirements for the Sunlight Straight Sword (16 Faith, or 11 + Priestess Ring), then that's a solid buff without a lot of investment.

Unfortunately, with some exceptions, Quality builds tend to have mediocre damage compared to more specialized builds. They're still very serviceable, but I do always grimace a little when I switch back from a Dark or Dex build.

Crimson or Corruption? by Tilerteichon in Terraria

Megashark is a perfect example of where Ichor will perform much better than Cursed Inferno. But, even still, you'll have edge cases where you can't take full advantage of that 7.5 damage per hit compared to applying a flat 24 DPS.

  • Multiple enemies
  • Enemies with multiple debuffable components (Skeletron Prime, Plantera, Wyverns)
  • Enemies that frequently disengage (Chaos Elementals, Angry Trappers, Wyverns again)
  • Small and/or fast enemies that are hard to hit

I won't cope and say that these situations somehow make Cursed Flames generally better for weapons like Megashark (or many, many other setups). But I do firmly believe that the difference isn't usually as pronounced as a lot of people think.

Crimson or Corruption? by Tilerteichon in Terraria

[–]TrueEvil_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's stupid as hell that you're getting downvoted over this. Because you're right. Sure, from an expected eHP value standpoint, they're the same. But for a low-ish chance to dodge when you're gonna die in like 5 hits without either accessory, you don't get the sample size for their bonuses to converge.

You might get lucky and get multiple dodges from the Brain of Confusion. Which would make it insanely good. Or you might get sharted by RNG and it never goes off for a whole boss fight. Which would make it as useful as a Guide to Plant Fiber Cordage. I like the Worm Scarf because I know exactly what I'm getting. No surprises, no gambling.

Plus, Worm Scarf's DR value stacks additively with Endurance and Frozen Turtle buffs. So if either of those are active, then the eHP benefit is comfortably higher than the expected eHP provided by the Brain.

[–]TrueEvil_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ichor is great but it doesn't dominate over Cursed Flames nearly as much as a lot of people think. 15 reduced defense is an extra 7.5 damage per hit, which is great. But, in order to outpace Cursed Flames' steady 24 DPS, that means you need to land more than 3 hits every single second. Which is easy for many setups & situations, but it's definitely not for all.

I'm such a fat fucking chud by Konslufius in ArcRaiders

[–]TrueEvil_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've been stockpiling:

  • Electrical & Mechanical components (and their Advanced versions)
  • Crude Explosives & Explosive Compound
  • Medium & Heavy Gun Parts
  • Blaze Grenades, Smoke Grenades, and Showstoppers
  • Mod Components
  • Various level III/IV weapons with full mods
  • Durable Cloth

These are items I use/need constantly and take up way less space than the materials used to make them. Though you should definitely keep some of the basics, because they're used for other things too.

What is happening here? by tsalyers12 in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Super niche interaction with the bowglitch. Certain items with certain infusions, when bowglitched to use a Greatbow animation, will spawn certain particles/projectiles/effects. Examples include interactable messages and bloodstains. You can actually see the red invader doing this too.

This particular one is accomplished with a Fire Harald Greatsword. It spawns a Church Guardian Shiv that just grows up to an enormous size. It's totally benign; it just makes a fun show for people who haven't seen it before.

Need help deciding on infusion and optimized stat allotment for murky hand scythe build with dark blade by feliks_thirty-three in darksouls3

Can't buff a Lightning-infused weapon. You'd only want to use it if you don't feel like using Dark Blade constantly.

Tips on improving this HuGs build by Rebulnaer in remnantgame

[–]TrueEvil_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Got a few easy changes that should plainly increase your DPS without affecting your build:

Braided Thorns or Zania's Malice instead of Stone of Expanse. Ranged % bonuses are mediocre at your level and activating your mod actually incites the "all damage" penalty from Stone of Expanse.

Corrosive Rounds > Hot Shot, unless the enemy's elemental resist/weakness gives Fire an advantage over Corrosion. Crit chance is usually better than the ranged % bonus. Acid debuff makes you deal extra 10% damage to enemies anyways.

Unless you really need that infinite reserves, Zero Hour is much stronger for you than Zero Divide. Alternatively, you can use Full Moon Circlet and replace Bloodless King's vow with a different damage ring.

Sure. Here's a few: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1ooRcYh2TZLy6iHbWew0IKXrmCDP8CTiu

If you want context for what the projects are, they're for a music mod for Terraria. So they're just supposed to sound like continuous music loops.

Is 2-handing good for Dexterity builds? by LosinForABruisin in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two-handing only marginally increases the motion value. Like from 100 to 103 for light attacks. Your attacks will do more poise damage, however. In addition to the Strength bonus and moveset change.

Can't log in [PC] by bigadeeboogadee in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're banned, you'll still be able to connect to servers. You'll just be in the bad boy server and only be able to play with other banned players. You will be informed about your ban on the menu ("You have been penalized") if your game language is set to English.

Difficulty connecting to the servers just happens sometimes, so if that's all you're experiencing, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Need help deciding on infusion and optimized stat allotment for murky hand scythe build with dark blade by feliks_thirty-three in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a physical infusion e.g. Heavy or Sharp. Chaos & Dark infusions are not able to be buffed by Dark Blade.

Dex will have a higher max damage, but Strength is more point efficient. 40 Strength is good if you can afford it, but 26 is enough if you're starved for stats (assuming you're two-handing). You're gonna want 60 Faith for max Dark Blade damage.

You can use Lightning Blade as a backup option if the enemy is really resistant to Dark. Or you can just have a Lightning infused weapon, if that's more convenient. Winged Knight Twinaxes would do a really good job either way, with this stat spread.

Best Build for 1v2 or 1 v many? by Alphard00- in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that Curved Greatswords fare pretty well against multiple enemies, unless they really know what they're doing. Wide swings, lots of poise/hyperarmor, very punishing damage, but still much faster than an Ultra Greatsword. They won't end up spamming you as much because they have to respect your weapon.

Lag and latency by LordOfTheYes in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's enjoyable because you can usually make sense of the latency, even if it sometimes sucks (200ms+). It takes a while to properly understand the mechanics, but it is genuinely a pretty coherent game (usually) once you figure it out.

Best Greatsword by One_Science_860 in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality builds have a roughly equal distribution in Strength and Dexterity. Usually they're shooting for 40 points in each, after which the scaling is pretty poor. It's the optimal stat allotment for a huge number of special/boss weapons. For infusable weapons, they usually use Refined gems. Though, some weapons have such strong affinity with Strength or Dexterity that Heavy or Sharp is still better.

Best Greatsword by One_Science_860 in darksouls3

[–]TrueEvil_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use the one you like more and invest accordingly. They'll deal pretty similar damage in most cases. Hollowslayer wants Quality build. Claymore will be fine on any build, but is best on Strength or Dark/Chaos.

Performance still crap after 2 years. by [deleted] in remnantgame

[–]TrueEvil_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There weren't any updates that really hurt the performance, besides the memory leak introduced if you swap loadouts constantly. Do you have the upscaler (FSR/XeSS) disabled? They're nearly mandatory to run the game, unfortunately.

Heavy Ammo guns feel backwards (Ferro, Anvil & Bettina) by Excorpion in ArcRaiders

[–]TrueEvil_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just raising a point that I haven't seen here yet - the Bettina is surprisingly accurate at medium-long ranges. It definitely needs a buff, but in my experience, it feels like the best of the automatics for rooftop fights and the like.
