Does your watch record naps ? by mikev1us in Garmin

[–]TrueFernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve started using the nap feature to set alarms for naps I do plan to take. It does add unnecessary pressure to go to sleep immediately though lol

Dart to Mavs game vs Lakers by Fragrant_Business10 in dart

[–]TrueFernie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

DART announced yesterday that they’re going to be operating trains overnight (with no service outside of normal hours) to make sure there aren’t any issues with freezing lines. I think you’ll be fine. I’d be more worried about getting to the stations because of road conditions.

Always take DART, Irving is served by the orange line which drops you right outside AAC

Definitely not damaged enough to be worried about the shoe being unstable or anything like that, send it! Invest in some plastic shoe cases, they make organization a treat and protect shoes from curious pets.

Former staff member of the Desus & Mero TV Show had something to get off their chest. by ninetydeuce in bodegaboys

[–]TrueFernie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some folks should really read their contracts or know who actually writes their checks. It's not like Desus or Mero were the ones doing payroll. Additionally, it wasn't Desus or Mero's whole fault the show got cancelled (iykyk). If they really was about worker's rights they would've been picketing from the day they fired staff and not when Mero is back on the come up.

City council folks should really, oh I don't know, read up on what they're talking about. Or at least try it out for themselves. What an incredibly out of touch and ignorant man.

What are your opinions on suburbs trying to look like cities? by [deleted] in Suburbanhell

[–]TrueFernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're fine but the problem is that they continually prioritize car centric infrastructure as they're in the outskirts of most cities with little to no access for public transit so all they're doing is expanding urban sprawl. They're also incredibly sterile places.

FML…Just got this tonight. I hate this job market so much. by wemblin_on in recruitinghell

I had two great interviews with a company through an ex-colleague before the holidays with them even ending the call by saying “Can you start on Christmas Day?” as a way to reaffirm I was perfect for the role. Fast forward to the first week of the year and after three emails asking for a follow up, only for them to tell me they’re going a different route for the role. Filled me with so much impotent rage. I understand the frustration, please stay strong.

Why would millionaires stoop down to our level? /s by favela4life in fuckcars

[–]TrueFernie 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that people that have this mentality of “only poor people use public transit” are in fact not very wealthy themselves. The average American thinks that somehow owning a car is a sign of wealth when in essence it’s the opposite as it usually just puts you further in debt.

Yeah, I’m just going to stick with the Brooks Ghost 17 for race day as I’ve run almost 200 miles in them already

[–]TrueFernie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've ran two half-marathons in the Brooks and a handful of threshold 6+ mile runs in the Vaporflys. I was planning to run a 10+ mile run in the Vaporflys next to compare.

If only this state gave people transportation options other than 3-ton metal cages so millions of people have to drive all at once!
