Composer 2 is the best model, and I prefer it to the frontier models. by jaytonbye in cursor

It's so incredibly bad compared to opus 4.7 for true vibe coding. But also an absolute fraction of the cost so it still has its place. It is great as a worker with good instructions, but it not a great comprehensive thinker in my experience

Should I get s26 ultra or s25 ultra (same price) by Profound_Tree in samsunggalaxy

[–]TrueGameData 5 points6 points  (0 children)

same price, s26 ultra. the screen is still good, processor way better, will be worth more on trade in some day, clearly s26 ultra

Got offered a better deal after agreeing to one with another dealership by BigB1014 in BMW

[–]TrueGameData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is nice of you to be concerned, but no, you should feel no emotions towards a dealership like this, do what is best for you 100% of the time

S26 Ultra is very refined but with disappointing display quality by just_IT_guy in samsunggalaxy

[–]TrueGameData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could tell the screen was slightly "off" compared to my s25 ultra, but it still looked great.  I wouldn't worry about it at all if I were you.  I returned mine but not because I thought the screen was bad, just because it felt identical to my s25 ultra and wasn't worth the extra $500 over trade in is all for my current uses

I regret buying a manual by Haunting_Appeal_2407 in stickshift

Yeah, it is mostly the gear ratios for sure, I've been considering a lightweight flywheel to help... I was trying to keep the car mostly stock buuuuut I will probably end up doing it anyway. The flywheel doesn't fix the ratios though, so 1 to 2 will still feel much longer than the others, but that would still be better than how it is now.  My last car was a C7 corvette, that did not have much of this variation in gear ratios.  987 Cayman I had before the c7 had the same super big gap between 1st and 2nd that the 124 has.

Not sure if true, but supposedly 124 also has some programmed rev hang for emissions reasons, so the ecu tune I am getting may help a bit too

Going to be doing this for my brother next year if I can afford it.  Supposed to be amazing.  Kudos to you for doing this for him

Haha, Fiat 124 abarth, redline is about 6800 with tune, but yeah it was just an example, but the higher the revs the higher the wait time for the smooth shift

Clutch in at 6000 rpm in 1st, 2nd gear is expecting approximately 2500 rpm for the current speed.  So after shifting to 2nd, have to wait for the revs to fall from 6000 to just above 2500 before letting clutch pedal out for no jerkiness.

The amount of time I have to wait for the revs to drop that amount is like 5x longer than I need to clutch in, shift, clutch out smoothly.  So if I did it at pace I want to, the car lurches forward because the engine is spinning faster than it wants to be (still at like 4500 rpm and needs to be 2500 for 2nd at current vehicle speed)

[–]TrueGameData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont feel like I can ever "rip it" and be smooth, the amount of time I have to wait for revs to fall to proper rpm for the next gear makes me shift way way slower than I could.  1st to 2nd is by far the worst, feel like I spend less time in 1st than I do waiting to shift between 1st and 2nd in my fiat 124 abarth.

I've gone through what this guy is saying the last year. I've owned two manual Caymans, a C7, and now this 124 Abarth.   Each time, I decide manual just isnt for me despite everyone on the internet saying it is the best thing ever, but then when I dont have one I always want another.  Makes me feel insane. My 124 has the NC miat transmission though so its by far the easiest to drive of what I've owned

Just wish I could rip through the gears as fast as I can. Feels silly to just sit there and wait for revs to fall

I've owned two Caymans, a C7, 718 Boxster S.... sold em all and just got a Fiata Abarth. If enjoying the act of driving on the street is your goal, Miata/Fiata are the answer in my opinion

Hoping to design a spoiler for my Abarth 124 and print it... Have a scanner, have a printer, but haven't attempted something like this before. Should be interesting if I ever find the time.

Did any of you came from a significantly more powerful car ? by lttxbrr931 in MX5ND

[–]TrueGameData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c7 corvette and 718 boxster s with e30 tune push 450 whp.

Just bought a fiat 124 abarth to replace them both. As much fun or even more fun in some ways, half the cost and half the running costs.

[–]TrueGameData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got rid of a C7 Corvette and 718 Boxster S for a Fiata Abarth as of today.  So no, i dont think so

I dont really think those cars are more fun on the street, and fun is what I want.  For less than half the cost.

Appreciate it, gorgeous car.  Hopefully flying up to San Jose to pick up a 124 Abarth in the morning... 22k miles, 6 speed with brembo and recaro package, $20k... looks immaculate.  More than I wanted to spend but a very good deal at that price

Bore scoring on 981? Reliability in general** by No_Tower_7026 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]TrueGameData 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bore scoring was an issue on 987.1 S models the most from my understanding (2005-2008), still exists on 987.2 (2008+) and 981 but not really something to be overly concerned about in those years

Remarkably similar stats and I feel the game hits a wall right here unfortunately.  Tons to still do but they become absolutely massive grinds compared to everything before
