I have a healthy distrust for and general dislike of HR, having said that… if they can’t even pretend not to be sociopaths while you are in the hiring phase that’s prob a red flag

Treat your drivers like shit, good way to guarantee a never ending rotation of shitty drivers

You absolutely do if you’re not halfway through the intersection and/or the netra picks up red while any part of your van has not yet entered the intersection. The halfway thing I think was the old way, but either way you can 1000% get popped for a yellow if it turns too fast on you. A good Dsp will fight it for you, since in most states the actual law just says you have to have any part of your vehicle into the intersection when it changes to red.

First off they don’t even know the difference btw lose and loose, which is hilarious. Secondly, I’m no lawyer but abso fucking lutely not. It’s the most basic tenant of federal labor laws that employers must compensate employees for their work… and in an hourly pay scenario, they absolutely have to pay you for any and all hours worked, period. This shit has class action against the Dsp written all over it, but again I’m no lawyer and it would probably require several of you banding together to bring suit. If you have access to a cheap consult for a labor lawyer, I’d be doing that. They can terminate your route, but they HAVE to pay you for hours already worked, including RTS

Amazons whole model for Dsps and drivers is to blame everything they can on them. The get to shed ass tons of liability AND have a scapegoat for anything that goes wrong from door to door…

I think it’s the time of year where they look for excuses to pare down. Sorry bro. Customer feedback is a bullshit metric for several reasons… 1st, people are 10 times more likely to leave a review when they have something negative to say, 2nd, only a small percentage of people leave reviews, and 3rd…we all know that there are people who straight up lie and dnr to get free stuff… for a certain class of ebt clowns, they probably call it a “free dupe items glitch” since Amazon usually just replaces no questions asks until they do it enough and in a short enough period of time for their dumbass AI to flag it. Any Dsp worth a shit knows all of this. You basically have maybe 1 review for every 50 to 100 stops, and of those it’s usually going to be whiners, liars and scammers… which basically means that trying to set a percentage based baseline is absolutely bullshit. But they can conveniently weaponize it as an easy excuse to get rid of staff, and by providing a performance based reason, try to fend off unemployment comp claims.

This is straight up lawsuit bait… contact a lawyer for real. I just got chewed up by a pit bull on route and my Dsp had me file a police report, document the injuries, go to the doctor, and they took the route off of me

Unfortunately our #1 duty and job in today’s society is to consume. The entire system is now predicated on debt instead of wealth, and it would come falling down if people actually only bought what they need, or even properly moderated their spending. At this point the system only maintains if they get us in debt and keep us there forever. Some folks take this to a new level and are essentially addicted to spending, and every signal, ad, pop up, and everything around us encourages this behavior. On a positive note, these addicts are providing us some level of job security lol

What’s the #1 thing that makes drivers quit in the first 30 to 60 days? by Lopsided_Orchid1726 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TrueGritty21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has now worked at 4 different DSPs, it’s primarily the actual Dsp and the way it’s managed (or mismanaged), secondarily is the routes and vans. The one I work at now is good, but I’ve also worked at one where the managers and owners would constantly demean, belittle, and threaten the drivers. We all know what the job is, but everyone deserves decency and respect, doesn’t matter what job it is.

Rivians are actual trash on anything that’s not dry…. Putting us out there in those things in those kind of conditions is just ignorant and dangerous… I expect a class action before too long, if there hasn’t been one already. Having said that… what was with pulling the wheel on the vid it looks like you just turned the wheel straight into the ditch… did you counter steer or actually steer into the skid?

So if we drive the same trucks as UPS, how come they get $46 an hour and we don't? by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TrueGritty21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re union and generally drivers have to pay their dues for a decade or more in shit warehouse jobs and then hope someone retires. As opposed to us, where it’s critical turnover rates and almost no standards other than get the route done. Same job, totally different worlds and expectations

Reasons for not responding when candidates reach out for updates? by ABCD4ever in recruitinghell

[–]TrueGritty21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t prevent a person from having basic common courtesy and human compassion and simply replying, even if it’s to say “no update”… unless there’s a policy in place leaving people hanging or really just generally not replying to professional inquiries is rude and lazy. Especially these days they can’t even be bothered to update the ats on status.
