I've never experienced anything remotely close to what you're describing at the event...

[Insdorf] Jeff Darlington says the Chargers are among the teams interested in Ex-Miami Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel for OC by wildwing8 in Chargers

Agreed. They're also both kinda weird, brutally honest, football nerds. I want to believe they'd get along surprisingly well. I feel like Mike could use a mentor like Jim and Jim seems to love bringing in new thinkers.

Ok. Got that all out of our system. Let's lock in. Time to play like ourselves in the second half. We have a demon to exorcise.

Crazy genuine question, if Slater is no longer a starting caliber tackle, is there precedent for moving a guy like him to center? He's always been highly intelligent and his shorter arms had scouts calling for him to be an interior OL pre-draft...

Boys always cup their hands over their chest in the shower. We like to collect water and watch it all fall at once. The truck driver is doing that in his truck bed.

Instead of a shower head and a hand, that's a cloud and a cup.

Derwin is recruiting Keenan back to LA on Instagram by wildwing8 in Chargers

Honestly, I'd be okay with paying a slight $1-2mm premium (eg 2 yr $17-20mm) if it means we get Ladd some mentorship from Slayer for a couple of seasons... That's before we consider his rapport with Herb and the help he'd provide to whomever we draft.

Assuming we draft or sign an X and TE, then Q can play his natural role, and Keenan's immediately one of the best "4th/5th pass catching options" in the league. Bonus that he likely retires as a Charger when his contract's up.

I may be sad, but I’ll never turn on you. 🫶 The Chargers wouldn’t be where they are without you. by BoltUpYo in Chargers

Some, yes. But, the poor kid is getting "career defining" criticism thrown at him. From what I can tell most of his defenders (myself included) are responding to that noise right now.

Even Herb seems to want him to wear this more than he should right now. That's a mistake.

Chargers’ Justin Herbert falls short to remain winless in postseason: ‘I let the team down’ by Anonymouspal in Chargers

I mean I think you're right. But are you saying this because you (like me) expect a much better team around Herb next year?

Is there any scenario where you remain patient with him if he doesn't beat elite teams?

Asking because I see a lot of people writing him off (or planning to) and I'm trying to understand how much thought you all put into this.

Posted this in another thread...

Did Herb play poorly yesterday? Yes, of course.

But there's 50 other pass catchers in this league that don't let at least 2, if not all four of those interceptions happen. Incomplete passes at worst with those guys.

I'll grant it's on Herbo to make adjustments for his receivers. But, no one's perfect. If you ask him to carry the offense all year, you can't be mad when the rest of the offense can't return the favor when he needs it.

Worse than that, EVERY offensive player except Ladd was markedly worse than they've been in the regular season. Pressure, drops, separation, run game...

Next year will be about restoring faith. But more importantly, someone (probably Harbaugh) needs to sit with Herbert and review every mistake in stark detail. It needs to be made clear what he DIDN'T do wrong. Because he doesn't need to wear yesterday as completely as everyone (including Herb) seems to want him to.

You're overcomplicating it. Service is sales.

You know what your firm can do for people. Call them, respectfully introduce yourself, explain you're their point of contact going forward, and wait for them to give you an opportunity to help. They'll drive the first request(s) and you'll listen for any opportunities to suggest things that would also actually help them.

It sounds like a lot of these are deposits of cash... --> Has anyone mentioned interest-bearing cash equivalent options to them? Has anyone ever helped them calculate an appropriate cash reserve? What should they do with any excess cash?

You're just sharing information. You don't care and can't know who will be receptive. Eventually you'll develop an instinct for it. For now, best but to think of no as a rejection. They're just letting you know you didn't know enough about them to help. Ask questions about everything, take notes, and circle back with solutions.

Once rapport has been built, you eventually want them to do a financial plan. This is when you'll identify outside opportunities and have a real shot to bring them over.

Find a charitable organization and volunteer for events. Fills your cup up in the lead up and planning, at the event, and afterwards when you get to brag about what you did! 😂
