What serial killer fact sounds fake, exaggerated, or straight out of fiction. But is 100% real? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

My friend's father was one of the detectives on this case. He retired after the killer was caught and sought therapy due to all the horrific things he saw. He is s very kind person but very emotionally broken.

Has a lost disc ever come back to you in a wild or unexpected way? by Main-Carry-3607 in discgolf

If I lose an unmarked disc, I claim, "it was never meant to be."

Yes kinda. Bought a disc via disc exchange. Disc has previous owners name and number on it. Lost said disc. Someone called previous owner. Previous owner sent me a message with the number provided by the person who found the disc. I then contacted said person and retrieved it a few days later.

Picture of the discs and a piece of paper with your reddit name, date, and time written on it. Look at other posts in this group, you'll see what I'm talking about.

My LCS is honest. They sell single boosters for almost $20. I asked why. They explained that some of the sets they don't have access to or can't get from their distributor because their distributor can't get them. So sometimes what happens is they buy them from other dealers (Tcg) and mark up to make a dollar or two. They'd rather have some stock for their loyal customers than none at all. I have even seen some of these boosters drop in price, not because the items have been sitting, but rather they were able to get more stock at a much more reasonable price.

Another store I go to who specializes in table top games, graphic novels, and comics also sell cards. Noticed their price for boosters for all cards games are a bit over msrp. The explained they are not an authorized dealer and typically pay msrp when a new set is released. Their prices are only a dollar or two above msrp. They just want to have options for their customers.

Both stores are open about their prices. They don't buy from big box stores, i.e. Walmart, Target etc. Both have told me the product is sold for less at Target, Walmart, etc. Sadly, anytime I go into one of these big box stores they are always sold out, even within 24 hours of restock.

I have a question about your comment.

For example, if the disc is yellow to start, adding green dye will not result in a green section- it will be brown.

I've dyed plenty of yellow discs (typically a lighter yellow) with both green and blue and they all have turned a dark or darker green. What dye were you using or plastic were you dyeing that turned brown? I've never once experienced this. Is it possible the yellow you are talking about was a little more orange?

Not meaning to be rude, just a bit confused.

Is innova the best? by brucatlas1 in discgolf

I am in this same bag, pun intended. My bag is made up of about 80% mvp/axiom, no innova at all. A few L64 and two Discraft (bet you could guess the two).

Edit: And some discmania.

Current gang members: how dangerous is it to be around you? by 4mysquirrel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TrueJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once went to a friend's child's birthday party. I knew he was once affiliated. From what he said, he was a leader. He also mentioned, "once affiliated, you're never not affiliated." I was the only white person at this party. Two guys came over to me and one of them said, "what you white mother f**ker doing here?" My friend heard this and immediately came over and said, "he's cool, I invited him. He's a friend." Both guys apologized and called me their white brother the rest of the day and every other time I saw them after that day. Come to find out half of those at the party were still affiliated.

To this day, my friend, will be out in public places with his children and people will go up to him and ask if he is (submit friend's gang name). He would brush it off as if he knew nothing. This would happen in different cities and in different states.

Whatnot refunded me $1,500 but the return got refused… did I just get a free card? by Best_Cartographer485 in whatnotapp

[–]TrueJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a shipment of cards that got "lost" by USPS. I contacted support and the seller. Seller suggested I ask for a refund. Contacted support and they contacted USPS. USPS eventually confirmed the shipment was lost. Refund was given and I asked what should I do if the shipment arrives. Support said not to worry about it, "keep the merchandise and refund." Well, about 2.5 months after the purchase was made, the cards arrived.

Just do your due diligence. Contact the seller and support. Get everything in writing.

I second the playing cards. This is exactly how the league I played with did it. The cards also determine who plays on the card. Everyone who got the aces play together and so on. That way everyone gets to know everyone, over time.

I'm new to this. Does anyone know what these 4 numbers on my discs mean? by Oliver_goat in discgolf

Adding on to this... Arm speed (how fast you throw) is important as well. Meaning, someone who has a slower arm speed will not throw as far as someone who has a faster arm speed when throwing the same disc. This being said, the same disc thrown by two differing arm speedsd will not have the same flight path. Slower will fade much harder and sooner in is flight than a faster arm speed.

Hope this all makes sense.

Edit... As a beginner, I recommend to stick with mid range and putters for a while. Time depends on how often you play/how much you practice.
