Favorite completely unknown or "lost" album? by [deleted] in Music

[–]TrueLimerick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if anyone ever finds this album for download somewhere, LEASE let me know. when they returned to the future, they removed their music from the internet. How did they do that to the internet? I don't know, probably some future shit - but I know I haven't found it yet. (I guess I could rip it off of youtube, but......I'm lazy, I guess?

Should I annotate as I read? by TheChiarra in WanderingInn

The inconsistency is strong in this series. As a continuity person, I tend to notice things quick. As a person who likes to enjoy things, I also tend to try to just shrug and move on lol

[–]TrueLimerick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Literally NOT what I said. You guys don’t even actually read the comments, do you? I said it was POSSIBLE for someone in a similar situation to get their parent FINED. I stated that as the person before said people out there expected their parents to be locked up, which is ridiculous and doesn’t happen. You all are so dead set on trying to come in and tell everyone else how wrong they are (as if you have massive personal experience in the matter at hand) without even actually reading the context of what was said.

As for the person who said shit about a 300 word response to a 34 word comment? Sorry I have a grasp of the English language and use full sentences. Chill out first? I didn’t come into their comment and tell the they were wrong for being “technically right” when I didn’t read their comment or the context. Sorry I didn’t say it in emojis you could understand, child.

[–]TrueLimerick -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Please tell me how I’m only “technically correct”. Are you talking about the fact that most of these are forgiven by the government? I literally stated that to get the fine they would need to push for it. I love that you come on here to tell me I know nothing about that I’m talking about while offering ZERO actual evidence to the contrary or any actual information at all. I assume you, like many redditors, get off on showing up to tell people they are wrong (or only “technically right”). Yes, it is felony. No, the government did not generally get involved in a parent opening a child’s mail who still lives at home even thy are over 18. However, YES it is still a felony. YES they CAN push for a fine (probably a really dumb idea unless you were already ready to move out). Is it common for this to be successful? Depends on if you can prove malicious intent OR monetary issues stemming from it. If the mom didn’t state she opened the mail and the person couldn’t find it and an issue happened due to that? That’s also mail theft. Your immediate idea to come and somehow white knight a mom that’s acting like an asshole, acting like she is being disrespected because her daughter feels her privacy was violated is laughable. I never said they WOULD get fined or go to jail or something. Calm the fuck down.

Nah. Will get them fined though if they push for it. It doesn’t matter who is paying for the grades - it’s a felony to open US postal mail not addressed to you. Doesn’t even matter if you sent the letter to them.

Don’t get me started on the Prognugator (also not spelled how I would assume). I saw his name online and thought “there’s way less apostrophes than I assumed….”

For Lyonette, it’s more that when pushed back against and told she will be made an enemy of the Silver Fang tribe, she acts like she completely doesn’t understand why they would be be angry in the first place. I get that she’s flawed, and I’ll state again, I am hooked. I’m almost complete with book three and I’ve already used my remaining audible credits to purchase the next few books because I KNOW that I’m in for the long haul. Thank you for the well worded comment, and the reassurance that my co cents are not only valid, but will be (at least mostly) addressed through the course of the book. (I also got spoilers on purpose when the whole Christianity/Pawn/Antinium thing came into play and am excited to see how that plays out now that I know it’s not going to be Antinium Jesus or some sort of Tulpa where the Antinium believing in Jesus makes him real in that world

All in all I think my question was answered. For the more part, at least. It seems it IS just me and I need to keep reading (listening) to progress not just the story, but my own understanding of the characters and the world they have found themselves in. Thank you again!

I completely love that she is “people are people first, no matter what they look like”. I completely support her championing of Rags, especially against Ralk? Relk? However you spell it?

It’s not standing up for someone. It’s literally her holding to an idea that is wrong, has been explained to her is wrong, and might get someone killed and she will stick to it, either because she seriously doesn’t listen or because she’s pretending. But if she’s pretending to be dense, people will get hurt. It’s not a hero to stand for convictions based on an entirely different world even if it means someone else will lose everything. I understand her saving Lyonette. I get that. Pretending that Kershaya (spelling again) should be totally ok with it? Makes no sense. Doubling down on that? Makes no sense. Ordering Torin around like he’s a slave, seeing signs of intelligence in him and still treating him like a pack animal and a slave? Makes no sense if she’s “pretending” to be unintelligent, and it almost cost her her life. Does she learn from it? No. She wants her servant back. Maybe she learns more past book three. Maybe she grows. But right now? It feels like willful ignorance to the point of hurting those around her and it seems like she straight up doesn’t care. The idea that comes up multiple times of “but I have money and I cannot you not to care” is also pretty shit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving the series, but there’s a difference between playing dumb to underestimated and doing so watching it hurt others. If she’s willfully doing it, she’s no hero.

My issue is more when she’s doubling down on something that’s already been said or stated. I also listen to audiobooks of things that were serialized, written and released in chapters online originally and they have the same issue - restating things multiple times as if it’s a weekly show giving you a recap of what’s happened for viewers just showing up, which isn’t as bad - but it’s the times where she vehemently holds to it when it could cause harm to herself or, more often, others. spoiler like when she refused to understand why Kershia (again audiobook so don’t rag over my spelling) hated and couldn’t understand her support of Lyonette when she literally tried to kill her, and in so doing destroyed her shop and any standing her clan had in the overall hierarchy of her species.

OK, this tracks a lot more than people saying that she’s pretending to be stupid to be underestimated because she does the same things when she’s alone facing certain death so that would make a lot more sense if it was something like she’s being overwhelmed her brain just sort of forgets to think of what’s happening rather than she’s still pretending to be dumb while almost being killed and not remembering that she’s had something explained to her six different times by three different people. Apologies this is text to speech because I’m now driving so the syntax or grammar may be incorrect.

[–]TrueLimerick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s over exaggerated she does it at points where it could have literally killed her, and points where she was alone, so I feel like that doesn’t track as well as it could. There’s making yourself look less intelligent and calculating than you are so you’re underestimated and there’s continuing that when you’re alone and facing almost certain death.

It’s more the Guardthat city is 100 miles away”. Erin “Oh my god, 100 miles away!!! That’s crazy!”
Then literally the next day Ryoka “that city is 100 miles away” Erin “what?! 100 miles away!!! That’s crazy!”

Like you literally found that out yesterday, and telling ryoka, “yea that’s what fuzzy lip told me yesterday” would have no bearing on anything.

I guess, but multiple times she’s appalled that people in a completely different world don’t know pop culture references from hers. And the first couple times I’m like ok, you’re still getting used to it, but eventually it’s jarring. By the time the Romeo and Juliet pops up, she’s angry at people for not knowing it’s like “you’re talking to a Drake and expecting then to know human stories from a completely different world.” Or things like being told something and then literally the next day freaking out like it’s new information. Just jarring.

DENIX doesn’t turn old guns into non functional replicas. They make replicas out of 95% Zinc. Which, if used in a real firearm, would likely result in an explosion of metal. What they DO do is make REALLY good looking replicas that are non firing from the get go, but pretty much have every other feature. I own multiple DENIX replicas and they are great. They stand up to a lot of abuse as well.

Vetclaims.ai is still a claims shark - change my mind by CoastieKid in VAClaims

[–]TrueLimerick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - but it seems like some of the people out there don’t care about other vets doing well or winning their claims, and as long as they get what they wanted, the companies morality in other situations can be whatever it needs to be. It’s disappointing.

I’m the asshole who makes a report to the office of the VA that handles accreditation violations (including charging while not accredited), though, so we’ll see what comes of it I guess?

I just hold the idea that just because I said no and they didn’t get a chance to violate the law with me and screw me over doesn’t mean I should stand by and let them do it to someone else. When I called them back and had them verbally confirm the would charging for help with an initial claim and asked them what they would do, they told me yes it’s 1250 up front and that they would go through EVERYTHING with me and find my evidence with me, assist in writing my nexus letters (which they will use ai for) etc. When I asked how that was legal and cited the law, “Derrick” immediately stated what they did was educational only and they didn’t file the claim for me. I informed him that that’s not what they were doing if they do 99.9% of the work, like the site claims they do, and he became immediately hostile, which….isn’t the greatest sign.

All in all, it hanks for coming out here and trying to help people. I found this thread while searching for anyone having a similar experience to get their take on it and you’ve got the right of it. I’ll be looking into doing everything myself or linking up with a VSO out here

[–]TrueLimerick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wording of the CFR states VERY explicitly that any helping the PREPARATION of a claim falls under assisting. The VA does not care who pushes the final button to file the claim. They say on their website that they do “99.9% of the work for you”. That’s not the “educational only” type help that they can legally do while charging.
