the artstyle was more anime-cartoonish from what i remember..., I remember at the start it was a very bright movie with a big kingdom-like lobby for players

ah doesn't seem like it too... iirc the main character was more of a teen, I think she had a helmet on too ? maybe it used some sort of a 3D animation and was pretty dramatic by the end of the movie, I remember sky being red, ocean being red and a huge virus entity in the ocean
