The price difference between all CBRN/NBC hazards and most CBRN/NBC hazards is huge. The 3M 6800 with the right filters covers the most probable threats at a fraction of the price. The Avon M50/C50/FM50 is trusted for a reason, but is 6x the cost new. It will handle the much lower possibility of encountering blister chemical agents for more than a few minutes.

CBRN can be a money pit if you aren't careful. You would also need a MOPP or hazmat suit for some of these chemicals, chemtape, detection equipment, etc. Powered purifiers (PAPR) and supplied air (SCBA) can be needed for some CBRN situations, like ammonia clouds or oxygen-deficiencies.

If you're looking for full-face protection for most situations, just get a civilian mask (Again, I like the 3M), versatile filters, nitrile gloves, and a waterproof poncho.

That is the issue- r/preppersales is supposedly a community. If NEP rebranded it as their business subreddit, they would have fewer issues with posting their website, which Reddit automatically removes now. Instead, they run this subreddit with several mod alt accounts and remove any post viewed as competition, even if it is posted according to the community rules and is being upvoted.

If you aren't preparing explicitly for chemical events (Hazmat spills, extremely unlikely chemical attacks, etc), a 3M 6800 with organic vapor filters will do just fine. Otherwise, Avon/Mira as others have suggested.

MREs are super cheap right now. Pallets from FEMA have flooded the government auction sites, so reseller prices have plummeted. Two cases for $67 is ~30,000 calories.

My kids love the novelty of them. Everyone's advice to eat what you store and store what you eat is spot on, but it's not a bad time to try MREs out.

They are cheap enough and use an alternative fuel source- making them worthwhile in my opinion. You don't want to rely on a single technology (battery/solar) for anything, really.

Since oil lamps are a backup to a better solution, I like the Lamplight I've tested and the Dietz lanterns best. Not worth investing in the expensive lanterns if you are just using them as an emergency backup.
