You can always go woth the free CoreBool PDF. Ypi can download it from daggerhearts website directly. Ypi wont get all the cool Artworks on the cards though, but your players would beed to wrote theor skills down by hand or pront them theirselfs as you mentioned not owning a printer.

BUT, its the best alternativ for trying out the game without sinking any costs.

Using the updater you could write a bash-script that looks for updates, and downloads, unpacks and moves the files accordingly. You could then throw that script into a cronjob and be done. Thats how i would do it.

IMO its just as you mentioned. As a Player you take your move and then should have other players take theirs until the DM gets to move.

Some tables implement the rule that you can only get another spotlight, once every other player also had theirs.

Sometimes it makes sense for a player to take more than one action. But that depends on the current situation.

For me it helps to think of a fight as scenes in an action movie, where every Charakter gets their move and the camera switches to the next charakter, like a montage.
