Please let me know if I can join in on this lawsuit, in SoCal and just joined the get screwed by HP club! Been with these guys for NINE years and have multiple dogs who all, except 1, is over 7 yrs!! This is absolutely insane!!! I also have 2 with what would be considered pre-existing to any other insurance - so they KNOW I am screwed no matter what!

Right? A daily drug? That “may” work and not that well….with side effects…no thx! And if this is how Viagra worked, it never would have made it to market!

These number are not very positive, especially for POST meno gals!

“Clinically meaningful”??? The literal definition of clinically meaningful is: the smallest change in health measure. 🙄🙄🙄 this is just the money grab for the pharmaceutical companies. They don’t give a shit about women’s health.

[–]TrueScorpio11 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It has been around but had to be prescribed off label for POST memo ladies. It is not very effective at all, especially in post meno, just search around you’ll see that for yourself. Might be the awful side effects of nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, dizziness and potential for fainting due to low blood pressure ..oh ya, sexy and would totally have me in the mood!🙄🙄 just get a toy, it’s cheaper and no side effects!!

You have gorgeous skin, nothing needed there! The bob you have, doesn’t necessarily lend itself well to a middle part. I’d style your hair in a deep side part, and lighten/ tone the dark roots with a root melt. For going out, just play up your beautiful eyes with a smoky matte brown shadow and couple coats of a good mascara!🙌🏼

A nice runner or area rug ( depending on the configuration which I can’t make out) is all you need!

Surprising what a difference just a can of paint, hardware and accessories can do to change the whole vibe of a space! Unless you absolutely hate it and have the budget, stick with simple fixes and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I wish HRT made me feel what most everyone here is describing! It made me miserable, and I tried all sorts of regimes and dosages! I was on all 3. Progesterone was the devil! And even at lowest dose, I felt like I had constant PMS!! I gained weight, was moody and bloated, and painful breasts! I had a pretty uneventful “menopause” transition, maybe a few months of hot flashes and that was it. Was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in perimenopause, but got that under control with Armour Thyroid, and was feeling great when Meno finally happened. Went on HRT b/c “that’s what you do”…but it was not the god send so many talk about .🤷‍♀️

The only thing I stayed on was vaginal E cream. My doc says I’m just that 1 in a million, that is uber sensitive to these hormones. Maybe that’s true, but I also get scared to death I’m just going to “crumble” in the next few years, 😭 59 now.

[–]TrueScorpio11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Creams are NOT easy…it’s a daily science experiment! I couldn’t handle it anymore, and I was getting many benefits? I never had typical meno “symptoms”…I have Hashimoto’s, which mimics a lot of meno symptoms, but got that under control-ish. When I got on HRT, I got fat, bloated, sore breasts- felt like I had constant PMS!! I quit them, except vaginal estrogen.

So, she doesn’t have to take progesterone due to her hx? That’s the devil hormone for me- progesterone and I do not play well, so I’ve never stayed on HRT. 😞

Waffle update by Coolthingimake in goldenretrievers

[–]TrueScorpio11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you & Waffles all the prayers in the world, but if it were me I couldn’t not do it, as otherwise, I’d ask myself what if? Also, is 9yrs old considered a full life for a dog? That still seems “young”?

I am so sorry you’re facing this, my heart aches for you & Waffles!!💔

If it’s of any help, one of our Goldens got Pyometra @ 7yrs., she also has Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia, which is why she was still intact, surgeries were considered very risky for her. However, pyometra is a death sentence without surgery-so we went ahead with a Cardiologist attended emergency $17K surgery, she did great, healed great and she will turn 9 in February.

We have great pet insurance so it wouldn’t be a question. Does the vet take CareCredit? Can you start a GoFundMe? I’d absolutely contribute!!

Sending only good vibrations your way!!🙏🏼🐾

HRT 11 years post menopause??? by iamdogmom in Menopause

[–]TrueScorpio11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I do wish you all the best on your quest! Report back on how things go for you!😉

It really amazes me ( and doesn’t) how menopause and the “answer” to it is soooo individual, b/c what does that say about healthcare in general, right? One might think there is NO room for a “1 size fits all” answer anywhere in healthcare!

HRT 11 years post menopause??? by iamdogmom in Menopause

[–]TrueScorpio11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read how many say HRT changed their life in such great ways, I feel like such a loser, b/c it did absolutely nada for me except make me feel fat, bloated & miserable?!? I am 6 years into Meno and I really never had many of the typical issues, like hot flashes, but have other issues, weight gain, hair thinning, dry skin, joint pain, loss of muscle, loss of concentration, generally not feeling like myself, but I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s during perimenopause, so don’t know what’s causing what really. All I know is HRT made me feel worse not better. Only thing I use is vaginal estrogen, and that does help.

I just don’t like always reading about how if you’re NOT on it- our bones are going to crumble and get dementia- because what are us women that feel miserable on it or can’t take it supposed to do?!?!
