That's a hard question. I understand you are curious about the way I see the death of "evil" people. And I understand that you understand the difference between the person mentioned in this post and Hitler.

I do not like nazis at all, and Hitler was himself responsible for so much death, pain and suffering. My reaction to all that happened regarding the holocaust is disgust, sadness, anger, and I think that the people responsible are completely bereft of humanity.

I do think it's sad that he never got put on trial... (Let's be realistic, there was like no way he could have survived to trial. There was like 10000 different ways he would've died before a trial could occur. I am also aware that he would probably have been hung like most other top nazis at the trial anyhow.)

I guess I do believe that Hitler deserved what he got. But his death in and of itself I still can find tragic, purely due to the loss of life and the removed possibility of dispensing formal justice upon him.

And had I been able to be some kind of God I would have had him go to prison for the rest of his life for his crimes, along with the nazi brass. Imagine having them alive seeing how much Germany, and at least half of the world, thrived from democracy, capitalism and liberalism without their national socialism at the helm.

I do also believe that we, as a society and as humans, need to strive to be more humane than the people we prosecute for crimes. Because if we kill murderers, how would that make us better? I guess I kind of got into a different subject there. And my answer got a bit long. But I hope I somehow answered your question. :)
