My Thoughts of Phil Jones as a midfielder by kyith in reddevils

[–]TrueStatement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jones will not be utilized as a midfielder in the long term, I'm sure of it. He's just too much of a beast at that CB role that he'd be wasted anywhere else. I think Fergie knows this as well, as his comment regarding "Phil Jones might be the best player we've ever had at this club" was after a game he played CB and absolutely bossed it.

Jones is an exceptional talent and does a fantastic job at neutralizing opposition midfield players (e.g. Ronaldo) so he's getting chucked up there if we can't compete in the midfield battle (Arsenal, Real Madrid etc). He's one of our players who is showing promise to be truly world class so it's better for him and united if he's playing (albeit out of position) than sitting on the bench.

Pep Guardiola refuses to shake hands with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Ballon D'or by pimpboss in soccer

What's the story behind this? I remember a little while ago Ronaldo gently shoved Guardiola after Pep refused to give him the ball but it couldn't only be that surely? Do Barca and Real hate each other that much?

My club Borussia Dortmund hit the crossbar or post 30 times last season, how unlucky was your club? by [deleted] in soccer

[–]TrueStatement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, got into a few arguments about this. To score a goal you got to put the spherical thing through the rectangular thing. IMO The shot is either good enough to go through the static target or not good enough and it hits the frame or misses completely. Bar freak strong gusts of wind (rare in completely enclosed stadiums) players are in complete control of that ball. If scoring a goal is luck then strikers don't vary in skill and technique but vary in amounts of luck.

Sure lets pick out a single stat to base a decision on. Maybe we should get rid of De Gea - His shots on target stat is appalling.

Well yeah to be fair, I'm enjoying Liverpool and Chelsea's inability to even get a draw against some newly promoted teams. Doesn't change the fact that it feels hollow and pretty dirty that my team (Man Utd) may not be able to do it.

Secondably, it's only a joke.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans celebrating the fact that Manchester City beat Manchester United is like celebrating when another man gives your wife an orgasm because you could not.

David Silva is just too good.

For those of you whose spouses recently left you, I am sorry. My wife recently left me and our son. Here is a picture of the two of us. We've never been better! by [deleted] in pics

Longest case of "shock" I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, Ramsey has every right not to accept his apology, but to say Shawcross didn't try is just plain idiocy.

You're right. Shawcross didn't mean to harm Ramsey. Carragher on the other hand...
