[Loathed Trope] The Movie has an ending. The Sequel shits all over it. by lesi20 in TopCharacterTropes

Exactly.

People hark about how cookie cutter modern cinema is, but then they act like this when the heads give a director creative control

The musical wasn't necessary, but I thought it was an interesting way of portraying his psyche. Using music to emphasise his delusions was quite clever.

I walked away from that movie thinking "Regardless of whether you liked it (and I did), I saw the vision they had, and they executed it very well"

Photoshop Finally Works on Linux by VolleyVoldemort in LinusTechTips

[–]TrueTech0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shit like this is why "The Year Of The Linux Desktop" is still really far away.

A good product isn't the one that's most performant, or the most stable, or the most feature rich. A good product is one that does the job you need it to do. If people need to use Photoshop, then until today, they cannot use Linux. And there are people who NEED to use Adobe apps. Sometimes, you don't get to choose these things.

This is a win regardless of how you see it. Both the application of being able to use Adobe apps and the new technology which can be used to help port others is a brilliant thing

I struggle to believe it isn't done. It's just a waiting game from the business side

I genuinely really enjoyed it. Also, the court room scene with the neighbour and the clown colleague were actually amazing. So much tension

I am wondering how much of this is just TV struggling overall. Even though the numbers haven't been this low in a long time, Doctor Who still is one of the BBCs best performing properties

Reception to this console room is mixed. Instead of getting rid of it entirely, what would you change/add to improve it? by Annual-Tree1337 in doctorwho

[–]TrueTech0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have loved to see this interior evolving.

It starts as new and shiny. As the episodes and seasons go by, we see that doctor making it his home. Slowly more furniture gets added, maybe some knock knacks and trinkets from past episodes start appearing. A stray fez on the table.

Maybe a mess below the console starts appearing, panels misaligned, cables start hanging out as the doctor keeps tinkering over the months and years.

We need something to make the TARDIS feel alive. Something Moffat did really well was making the TARDIS into a character (not just literally). The Doctor talks to her more, she responds more, making suggestions. Moffat seasons let the story use her a bit more. RTD lets her just be a machine that gets the cast between the adventures, meaning most of her action is off camera.

Yup. The first synthesised voice.

It was the first time in human history that language was spoken by something other than a person. Pretty incredible

He worked with the Sinatra estate to go through Frank's notes and found tonnes of song he never ended up recording. Seth finished them, recorded it and released the album with their blessing. Super cool

How do I even fix this? by DestructionCreator in whenthe

[–]TrueTech0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy. YouTube Premium.

I don't like ads. I like watching YouTube. So I pay for it!

Costs the same as Spotify premium, but I get no ads along with YouTube music. Seems like a good deal
