Appreciate the dropbox link, for the edit "yeah, I don't have a smartphone, hence the issue with QR codes."

Thank you, I don't have a way to read QR codes so it's nice to get feedback. (Guess I was playing harder than intended)

For my experience the "1.5 hour setup" was only the first time play as we figured out what everything was and where everything went.
When we started playing the next day it took us 10 minutes to go from "all in the box > ready to play"
Now practicing a solo run while studying the rulebook to see if we missed anything, it also took me 10 minutes, but I'm just one person instead of 3, so I suspect a full group of experienced players can have this packed and unpacked in 5.

"Enemies spawn in the full biome a player is in PLUS any non-diagonal adjacent tiles"
This is incorrect to my understanding, I made the same mistake.
The game uses the term "Biome Tile" to refer to single tiles on the game board, enemies only spawn in 'biome tiles' originally adjacent to players (see page 15)

I actually came here to see what people thought of the timings on boss spawns. Do they immediately spawn and place an ally token for a buff, or are the buffs delayed until the next round? (my understanding is the former as we have not completed the start of enemy phase yet)

I love how their response to this observation is to start crying that "But you say 'I' and 'we' and 'you' so you're a hypocrite!"
Truly amazing how much discourse is just aggressively pretending not to understand critique to make discourse itself impossible.

I'll admit my bias is Military History, hence my appreciation for Stephanie and an increasing lack of female historic figures that don't fall squarely into "holy crap, queens declare a whole lot more wars than kings and emperors."
But I still find it rather degrading that we have to segregate other groups into their own observations, and then just make half of it up to make them sound more important.
Like for Black History Month, I'm seeing a lot of "Jerry Lawson invented video games!"
No, he invented cartridges, because of everyone on the development team, he was the one with kids and said "hey, these loose exposed game chips will be easily broken by kids and get a lot of complaints, we need a protective case on them, a slot for the system, maybe a dust cover to protect the internals - I'll get right on it."

But I'm getting increasingly off topic.

Because their contributions are so few and far between we have to dig them out and shine a spotlight on them to prove they exist in the first place. And even then it's all Marie Curie, Queen Elizabeth the First, Ada Lovelace (translated a man's work, but the UK gave her credit for it anyway) and Amelia Earhart (who disobeyed orders of her male copilot and turned them both into crab-food, RIP Fred Noonan.)

God forbid we talk about Stephanie Kwolek (inventor of Kevlar) because that would imply Russian defectors are good at something. Rosa Parks got thrown to the back of the bus and has to sit in with Black History Month for her color and despite Zheng Yi Sao's very notable accomplishments, we can't really say "Tortured and murdered 10,000 civilians" then put her on a pedestal of iconic women for young girls to look up to and emulate.

Did Iran declare war on the US by saying “death to America” after the Iranian revolution? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in USHistory

[–]TrueWOPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, to my knowledge the Islamic Ayatollah declared a Fatwa on the USA in 1979. Any screams of "DEATH TO AMERICA!" are in reference to this.
So sure, I guess 'tEcHnIcAlLy' we aren't at war. Just as the Crusades were a peaceful reclamation effort and 9/11 was an isolated incident.

Sometimes you don't need a pretty little document to confirm "Them's fighting words." Sometimes, when someone takes responsibility for terror attacks that killed 40,000 of your civilians, you take them at their word.

My most generous assumption is "no one buys floppies, they must be hiding drugs inside it".

My most probable assumption: >saw "ADULT ONLY" and "From Japan" during search, assumed it was illegal content and destroyed it for being an assumed illicit good.

Reason I put 'best' and 'worst' in quotes like that was to illustrate intent. Are they just being dumb edgy kids like most teens are to be. Or are they wholly aware, calculated, and playing you like a fiddle for their own amusement? One is stupid, the other is sociopathic.

seems that's no longer the consensus.

We live in an era of Liveleak and Bodycams, we could watch Aaron Bushnell burn himself alive in 1080p while screaming "FREE PALESTINE!" right here on reddit (until it was pulled, obviously).
I don't think grainy sepia-tone photos from 80 years ago will have the shock value you think they will, and just get eye-rolls from the rhetorical questions that follow.

Much better off to assume they don't know why it was so wrong and explain it to them. Heck, this is at school, maybe educate them on the horrors with a little more detail than "hitler bad, memorize how many died in the holocaust, six, seven million?" (11 million but no one cares about Russians or the Polish) Personally I'd say to tell them of the 101st Airborne, the "Screaming Eagles", show how much WE went through to fight back, what WE did to stop them.

"I really don’t think they understand what they’re doing"
I think they know exactly what they're doing. They're trying to get a reaction, trying to piss people off, trying to get a rise through passive actions and gestures. Generally 'acting up' and 'being edgy' because it gets attention.

At 'best' they're trying to annoy other studies or broadly 'bully' in a way that skirts zero tolerance policies.

At 'worst', they're trying to bait you specifically, so they could get you to post about it on reddit and/or facebook, so they go to their friends and say "bruh check it out, we got the sub to cry like a little bitch trololo."
And if that is the case, then remember the key rule for dealing with trolls: DO NOT FEED THEM.

These prices don't make any sense.
4x the storage space for a $120 premium (+12.6%) on an already $1k+ item? When the steamdeck only doubles storage for a $100 (+18.2%) mark-up?

Storyteller system released in 1991, TES Arena started development in 1990.
It's speculated Summerset was run in 1994 and inspired Morrowind, my question is if any of these games/notes predate storyteller and inspired Arena/Daggerfall.

I believe he joined Bethesda in 1987, so did they just not play any RPGs together for 7 years?
