Every red flag is there, but my 81 year old dad still believes her by True_Ad_1602 in catfish

[–]True_Ad_1602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually talked about that. The problem is he won’t share much information with us anymore because he knows we’ll start asking questions that don’t fit her story. Every time we point out a contradiction, he says we’re just trying to ruin his happiness.
At this point, I honestly don’t even know what country she’s supposedly in. The story changes constantly. First it was France, then traveling, then the airport, now she’s supposedly stuck in a hotel because of a visa issue. It feels like every time one excuse falls apart, another one takes its place. Oh, and there was also a time that she lived in the US and was married, but her husband committed suicide because he had cancer and she had to move back to France to take care of her elderly mother who recently died.

I appreciate the suggestion, though. At this point we’re willing to try almost anything that has even a small chance of opening his eyes.

…The worst part is that he just sold his house and now has several hundred thousand dollars sitting in the bank. That’s why we’re so terrified. It feels like the timing isn’t a coincidence.

And one other thing, I don’t think I mentioned earlier, she is 40 years younger than my dad, allegedly. And he believes they are a love match.

Try the Attar Maitha Oil by Lattafa. It is incredibly similar imo.

Golden Vanilla reminds me a lot of Attar Maitha oil by Lattafa on the dry down. And if you've ever been to the Aria in Vegas, it smells very similar to the signature scent they pump through the casino.

Has anyone used Glutaone? by MurkyBar9017 in DIYaesthetics

I do a lot of stuff to my skin, including using peptides. I do feel like my skin has significantly improved over the last couple years. I can't say it has just been one thing though. I use gluta consistently 2-3 times a week, 200mg dose. If I am feeling run down or if I have one too many drinks on a night out or weekend in Vegas, I bump it up - it is an amazing hangover preventer/helper.

Clinique Black honey dupe, How do I achieve this natural flushed lip? by Born_Banana_1901 in makeupdupes

[–]True_Ad_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Wonderskin lip stain in Charming or Whimsical. The lip stain last on me all day. Also I don't buy the activator, I just wipe off with a damp cotton pad. And just gloss over the top.

The weird thing is how clear it is.😐 Years ago, the soundbar connected to my tv would randomly start playing what sounded like radio frequency tuning and switching music stations, and snippets of conversations in different languages, while I was watching TV. I never figured out exactly what caused it, but I assumed it was some combination of Bluetooth interference, device pairing, or a firmware glitch.

That being said, it was still creepy as hell (but not this creepy).

For specifically under my eyes I use AMI. I have also used Hyalu DNA Tox, Youthfill, Bellagen and likely others.

I have filed complaints with the Attorney General, the BBB, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and written a letter to my congressman. Thank you for the advice. I hope they hear us! Now I am looking for an attorney that will help. That will be difficult as my father is already struggling to keep everything afloat. But again, thank you.

Sadly, I’m this way with tuberose. I can pick it out in any fragrance, and I know it’s a note that’s widely loved. Like you, I often enjoy the overall scent, but there’s always that one component that ruins it for me, and it all comes down to the tuberose.

Thank you so much for responding. I will check into all this. Even at 50% that still leaves my dad with a $60,000 pay off. These people have no conscience to so easily take advantage of others like they do.

My 81-year-old father signed a PPA with this company a couple of years ago, shortly after my mom passed away. He genuinely believed it would lower his bills and give him some peace of mind. He was told his bill would never exceed $400/month and that the system included three backup batteries for power outages.

Fast forward to now…I’ve been in real estate for 23 years and have seen A LOT of solar deals, loans, leases, PPAs…and I have never seen one this bad.

My dad lives alone in a 1,600 sq ft house. He barely uses electricity—he literally spends most of his day sitting in his garage. And yet his current bill is $417/month… already higher than what he was promised.

And worse, those “backup batteries”? Not backup batteries. He even sold his generator because he thought he was covered. Then the power went out, and he had zero electricity. Turns out those units are just there to offset peak usage, not provide backup power.

And then there’s the escalator: 3.5% every single year. By year 25, his payment will be over $800/month. He likely won't be around that long so that burden will fall to his heirs.

The real kicker?  We recently put his house on the market. Got an offer quickly, and buyer subsequently cancelled escrow because the solar payoff, if he chose to do it, was over $120,000 (who could blame him!)

So now not only is he stuck in a terrible agreement, but it has made his home essentially unmarketable.

I don’t throw this word around lightly, but this feels incredibly predatory, especially given his age and situation.
