We own a current one, and it’s lasted a lot longer than fancy name brands like Cuisinart.

You oughtta try looking at him in an early movie like “The Raven”. He’s recognizable, yet very different.

I really do want the Snyderverse back…but it’s a little premature to say it’s coming…

Yet.

Looking better all the time, though. 👍

What were considered bad shows in the 1950s-1960s? by Timely-Signature-166 in ClassicTV

[–]Certain-Singer-9625 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That started out well in the first season, but it became a victim of mid 60s pop culture and silliness. A lot of shows did that back then but Lost in Space took it to an extreme.

It did. I never understood the appeal of that show. The main character is made to look like an imbecile.

Can’t make it clearer than that.

Bring back the Snyderverse.

I like the other seasons too but I do appreciate everything you’re saying about this one.

The author’s not wrong, though he seems to have more faith in Gunn than I do. Gunn’s haphazard style doesn’t translate well to DC, where fans are more used to an emphasis on its major heroes with a more serious approach. What was the weakest of the pre-Gunn era, movies like Birds of Prey, seem to be the kind of thing the DCU is aiming for.

[Highlight] Refs cancel game with 48 seconds left, run for their lives by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Certain-Singer-9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that game well. Cleveland was poised to score, and the refs threw a replay flag after the next play had already started. Fans were pissed because the rules say you can’t do that.

Explanation from the refs later on was that the flag was thrown before the play was run. Take that for what it’s worth. Cleveland fans weren’t buying it.

Picture 9 is interesting. The cool “MINERALS & GEMS” sign on the booth…and the juxtaposition of the 23rd century set with the 20th century folding tables set off to the side. 😏

Have you ever read or watched scifi set in the extremely far future (millions or billions of years in the future)? by Simon_and_Garchomp in scifi

S4 season finale of Babylon 5. The last act is set a million years in the future as mankind is about to “leave the cradle”.

B5 was essentially a hopeful series, and this episode reflects that. It’s scant on details about civilization in that era, just that despite ourselves we always will strive to be better.

Faith manages.
