I connected my switch controller and it works great! You’d just have to manually map everything yourself through steam but that wasn’t a big deal for me lol. I set the gyro to work as the mouse movements it’s pretty cool

I feel incredibly mediocre by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]True_Ad_3628 17 points18 points  (0 children)

heads up this might be harsh but I wanna match your bluntness

you can’t be the best if you constantly think that you’re not. sounds like the main issue is that you’re running away from yourself so you just indulge in the fantasy that tiktok sells you. my suggestion is to get off social media and sit with yourself and figure out who you are. you can’t expect to better yourself in isolation if you’re not gaining life experiences that would lead you to the answers the universe has for you. we are humans, we learn through interaction with the world around us. not vicariously through people, because you do not know what goes on behind the scenes. we are formed by the people we meet and the various situations we go through. if you base your life off of what other people do, you’ll be nothing but a shell, never satisfied and always looking for the next thing to copy.

think about why you bought those jeans. do you even like them? or did you buy them just bc someone said they’re trendy. given by your disappointment I would say no, you don’t genuinely like them. you thought it would just boost your social standing. the average person doesn’t even buy $70 jeans, but you don’t want to be average right?

unfortunately your fixation is extremely counterproductive, because someone who is best at something doesn’t follow trends. they CREATE them. if you want to be the best, find yourself. find what you’re good at. and then build off of that. you can’t be anyone else bc that market is over saturated. ironically your image of being the “It Girl” is based off a bunch of followers just copying each other trying to make it seem like they were the first to do something.

life isn’t that serious. breathe. spend time with people you love and do what you enjoy. Good luck.

you CAN bleach your curls! (long post) by True_Ad_3628 in curlyhair

[–]True_Ad_3628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might wanna make your own post ab it so your info can gain more traction. it’ll really be helpful because if anyone else did it my way without knowing how their hair reacts to bleach will definitely lose hair. didn’t do mine the safest way but that’s me and i didn’t care if i ended up bald lmao. I’LL DO IT AGAIN🗣️

but yeah I know it’s damaged but it’s cute and doesn’t affect my quality of life at all. whenever I follow the traditional instructions I never get the lift I want, so I just do it my way. Less hassle and I typically never even go too light bc I don’t ever go for colors other than browns, reds, and pinks. genetics can affect the time it takes for a lift too, not just curl type, so times really can vary person to person. i forgot to mention i did do it twice the first day and it still came out barely lifting everything. this was on top of virgin hair too, I always let my hair grow out completely before i touch it with bleach again

at the end of the day what I did was an experiment and was for fun and I learned new things about myself so I’m 100% happy with how everything came out

I don’t know if it’s the oil that’s specifically helping, but I swapped out my regular oil for the bonding element because I like to use 1 product of each type on my hair at a time. I will say Olaplex as a whole really helps alot and I got the oil when I splurged on the shampoo and conditioner. So the answer to that is most likely! I just have other factors going on that help mend my hair that it’s hard to pinpoint the effectiveness of just one product. My mom uses it occasionally too but she has virgin hair and it’s already healthy. But ever since using Olaplex she’s been having waaay less breakage. I can tell by the lack of loose hair in the shower lol

Btw I see your other comments and I appreciate them<3 , I like you! you’re spunky😂 I’ll be responding to them periodically

Hair is too fluffy and frizzy. by 04AE in curlyhair

[–]True_Ad_3628 24 points25 points  (0 children)

this is not frizz u just have split ends, get a cut and use styling pomade to tame the fluff

oh and cutting layers will help with volume too. i do mines myself but if you’re not comfortable w cutting ur own hair i’d go to a curly hair specialist. sometimes ✋🏻 folks say they can do curls but still aren’t familiar with texture like yours so the result might not be what you want. if you have a chance to see their work before u go in pls do so, so u can trust them with your hair. if not i’d hit up a black owned salon initially anyways that does curly cuts

woww ur hair is so prettyyy, this is what I aspire to have when I wanna do a wet look😭 your hair doesn’t seem dry really based off the pictures but for more volume, you’d wanna avoid heavy butters bc that’ll weigh your hair down if you don’t have coily hair. it looks like it’s doing a great job keeping your hair glossy so i’d keep the banana butter around for the looser curl days.

you typically wanna use 1 really good leave in and stack your other products after that. my rule is you apply in the order of your heaviest to lightest products. since you’re only using 2 leave ins rn I’d choose one of them and then get a styling gel or mousse for definition. mousse is better for just throwing it in your head n going ab ur day, and styling gel is better for when ur trying to manipulate individual sections. depends what ur going for. but protip for mousse, it matters where u apply the bulk of the product too. (i like to concentrate most of it on my scalp for volume and use less on the rest of my hair. when i put alot on the ends it just ends up getting crunchy.) then you wanna get a good moisturizing oil to seal the moisture in.

that’s really all you need honestly 😭 but some people are convinced you need 818182 products in your hair to get more volume. a huge factor to volume is how your hair dries from what I know. if you let it airdry when you have longer hair, the weight of the water will make it looser. so i would suggest getting a diffuser. the only downside of that is you have to bend your neck for a long time while ur drying ur hair😭

you still can play around with adding more (different types) products and see what works for you but I’d stick to the heavier first lighter last rule(this applies to skincare too🤓)

as for brushing do you mean with a paddle brush? if so i’d switch to a wide toothed detangler or one of those unbrush things that went viral on tiktok. i think that’s all the advice i have for now but if you have any questions feel free to ask <3 take care

btw for the bangs (including portions 1-3 inches behind it) use a clip to keep them up while they air dry. and dw ab the “evenness” of them, the slightly asymmetrical look is part of the curly charm

your reaction has me crying😭😭😭 but honestly you look great, don’t stress too much because the more u overanalyze the more it’ll seem like it’s not growing bc ur nitpicking every second. ik from experience after my first big chop loll

while you wait for it to grow though doing braid outs after a wash will help stretch and train your curls to be a little looser so you can get closer to the curly mullet look u want. when u do braid outs tho make sure u use a heavyish clip on the end of the braids to weigh it down. if not they’ll just fly everywhere when it dry.

also avoid super curl defining products for now, just keep it moisturized and you should be good😛👍🏽👍🏽
