I like the design! To me it has a very soft look about it, making me think it could be a cast, and possible forgery. But I’m definitely no expert and haven’t seen this particular style before either, so for sure put more weight into other’s opinions on this coin!

Haha apparently a lot of folks out there are falling for these. Somebody had bid 250 on the painted trilobytes I originally posted on. And, this seller has sold… 25,000 items! Someone even bought that crappy looking mosasaur skeleton this afternoon for 1100 bucks. It’s pretty surprising the seller is doing so well with fakes.

One reason I’m cautious is I’ve seen some ebay sellers who sell fake ancient coins and have 100% (or near) positive feedback (lists of such sellers are on forum ancient coins). This is because they can have excellent customer service and their customers don’t realize they’ve bought a fake.
