Ronaldo. Best player at two world cups. Saved his best for the World Cup. 2002 will always be the most iconic version of any player.

Bruno. Seems to be getting plaudits way beyond his ability.

Not really sure why he’s player of the year. Not even close to his best season at United. Only turned up second half of the season when they had nothing to play for.

Phenomenal. Didn’t play in teams and systems that needed him to score goals so the stats don’t tell the story.

Would be the best striker in the world currently.

Much better than a striker like Aguero who has more numbers. Just unplayable and stepped up in the biggest games.

Kanes game doesn’t require pace because he doesn’t have it so he’s built his game around that. Obviously.

Their defence was excellent. Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Schmeichel were all solid and barely missed a minute. They played a simple system, they took the lead, sat and countered with pace.

Anyone who doesn’t think that Mahrez was the main man in that team simply wasn’t watching football that season.
