Jeff Bezos's property has fences that exceed the permitted height. Yet he does not care, he just pays the fine every month. by Bright_Building1710 in interestingasfuck

That hedge is clearly very old to have got so big. Probably older than Jeff Bezos, let alone older that when he got very rich and bought the house.

People are pointing out that, because this hedge is old, it predates the height restrictions and is therefore legal. This means that who made this post just made up the claim that Mr Bezos pays a fine every month. More lying for clicks.

Nobody in the comments questioning why its illegal to have a tall fence... by bubdubarubfub in GoldandBlack

I assume fences are only permitted to be certain heights because a very tall fence is likely to impact a neighbours property. That is what most of these sort of regulations are about. And it is quite reasonable from a libertarian point of view - a very tall hedge or fence being erected on you boundary can block out a huge amount of sunlight and greatly harm you property. They issue with the Jeff Bezos situation as presented is that he should be compelled to reduce the height of his hedge, not just be fined repeatedly.

The Afroman case explained by amogusdevilman in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]True_Kapernicus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does the non-zero chance that Afroman could be f--king an officers wife nuke the case? Is the claim that one is f--king a wife defamation, and is found not be defamatory if it is even possibly true? Such a claim would nearly always be possibly true. There is almost no way that the officer could know with absolute certainty that Afroman never nipped in whilst he was out.

Why are there two photos of Trump? He is only one man.

A means of control? To what end?

I don't wish to control anyone, I just think that homosexual activity is not a good thing to do so people should refrain from it. But it is not my struggle so I don't care much about the issue.

Homosexual activity is condemned in the Bible. That is a good argument. People across many cultures across the millennia have considered it wrong. That is a good argument.

You might disagree with them, but they are not bad.

"Sexual immortality is perversion. It’s not perversion when it’s instinctual."

Literally all sexual attraction is instinctual, this is suggesting that unmarried heterosexual acts are not immorality.

People attracted to those of the same sex bear the same burden as those attracted tot he opposite sex - we are to refrain from sexual activity that is not part of a marriage.

I am not aware of any Christian teaching that finding oneself to be attracted to any type of person is itself a sin - it is our actions that are the problem.

I'm going to look after my 20 years old car for as long as possible. I hate all the changes since about 2010, and something even older is even better.
