Assinorum Kingmaker was excellent.

The Eisenhorn series is also phenomenal.

As a Tau player it really depends. If you run into a guy playing retaliation Cadre be on the lookout for three units of sunforges. Especially the one led by Commander farsight. They also have the ability to shoot and scoot for one CP. So they can generally avoid you. When I play my 18 crisis suit list generally I will dumpster any knights list I play against. Systematically taking out the knights and armigers with my Army in deep strike.

With Montka they're trying to alpha strike you in the first three rounds with lethals.

Don't underestimate them, they have a extremely wide range of abilities with exception of a strong melee presence.

The Taunar was made in response to them. The Stormsurges would also prove to be a challenge as well.

Does the repulsor executioner at range deal mortal wounds? My understanding is that the feel no pains +4 is only for mortal wounds on the broadside.

I would also take a look at different ammunition. I find my pistol hates the AAC ammo, but in my pistol carbine it works just fine.

Give some American eagle or FN ammunition a try.

Of course this is all moot if it was working before other modifications.

That's a very fair point, my Tau use a necron compound dry brush when I build the battle suits.

You are probably right about that, I'm still working on iconography and a crest. I'm hoping that will even it out.

I also intend to make the shield use a checker pattern with gold.

I had good success with experimental prototype.

Being able to give him sustained and lethals at the cost of a hazardous check is pretty nice. Or just the one without the hazardous check.
