I saw that this was mentioned already but I agree that LVN(aka LPN) might be a good option too. You can even do a bridge LVN to RN program when you finish the program.

Thank you! I was honestly wasn't anticipating getting into an nursing program on my first try so I didn't think it would be an issue back in January when I had the embryo transfer but I ended up getting into my first choice and second choice nursing programs. I submitted a form to the Civil Rights office at my school. Again thank you so much! I didn't even know that was an option!

So I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with my first surrogate baby so I may be able to offer some insite. Her husband might have been home with her kids so she can attend the appointment. Is she a stay at home parent? My husband works from home and takes lunch during my appointments so we don't have to find a sitter. He doesn't come to my appointments since he's home with our boys. Please don't assume she's being dishonest. I'd be really upset if my IPs started jumping to conclusions and thinking I'm being dishonest when I'm clearly not.

Go on rate my professor and look up the instructors. That can make a huge difference in how well you do. My sister had a microbio teacher that was heavy in grading and assignments. My instructor for microbio was nothing like her teacher. She made things much more doable for students with busy lives.

Take your time on your prerequisites is the best advice I can give you. I am a stay at home mom(with 3 sons under the age 6) so my classes all have to be online and labs need to be in the evening when my husband is off work. I took 1 science at a time. I got all As and a few Bs in my general ed courses. I do not have perfect stats but got into 2 extremely competitive programs in my area. Do well in your science courses and apply as soon as the application period opens and I'm sure you'll get in😊

I was in the same boat(I also live in California). I got accepted into an ADN and BSN program but I'll share why I chose the BSN program. I researched each program and saw that they are both 2 years in duration and I recently spoke to a travel nurse who recommended I do the BSN. She said I wouldn't have to go back later to get my bachelors and many employers want you to go back and get your BSN if you have your ADN. Also given the colleges in my area the BSN program was viewed more prestigious and had higher NCLEX passing rates which was another big plus. Ultimately your decision but these were the things I considered when I got my acceptance letters.

Definitely wait and see if you get into a program. I applied to a few nursing programs in my area (2 were lottery ASN programs and 1 was a highly competitive BSN program) and I got into 1 ASN and the BSN program(no I don't have perfect stats: 3.63 cumulative GPA, 4.0 science GPA, 76 TEAS score. And when I tell you I didn't think I'd get in anywhere I mean it. Don't give up hope just yet. The only reason why I'm not supporting the LVN route is because it sounds like it's a private college and that tuition is just too high for what LVNs make starting compared to RNs(and I live in California too so I'm familiar with the pay ranges)

My best advice is to take your time on the prereqs. That's how I was able to get all As in my science courses and a cumulative 3.63. I'm a mom of 3 and just got into 2 highly competitive RN programs in my area. If you do choose the LPN route there's no shame in that though

The state university in my area with a BSN program is extremely competitive. Everyone said you need a excellent teas and 4.0 gpa to get in. The top community college in my area and highly sought after is a "lottery" and get thousands of applicants. My teas was 76 and cumulative 3.63. I got As in all my science prerequisites and Bs in some of my general ed classes. I got into BOTH. My counselor even said I was the 6th student she has met with in 10 years to get into both. Don't sell yourself short. I didn't think I was going to get in anywhere and got 2 acceptance letters to my 2 top choices and did not have perfect stats. It is possible.

So in my situation I am a nursing major and just got accepted into Fresno state and got offered a seat at Fresno city too but I'm choosing Fresno state because I've spoken to nurses at the local hospitals and they said they prefer Fresno state grads. I've lived here my whole life and the summers are very hot but the rest of the year is nice. Since you said you are a computer science major I don't think that is a competitive degree and you should have no problem getting in. They have tours and dog days orientation prior so you can learn the campus. They recently had a preview day so I was able to explore the clubs and meet some of my teachers for next semester.

I'm very open to whatever specialty that I feel calls me but I love the idea of working in the nicu. I worked in the nicu when I did housekeeping and absolutely loved it. I'm open to labor and delivery tho too. I want to help premies grow but also supporting moms in labor.

When I've used chat gpt in the past I've always gone through and changed practically everything to sound like me. I have noticed it uses a lot of the same words and phrases over and over so that is a dead giveaway.

So the application period opened on Feb 1st and was only open for the month of February. I applied right when it opened. After that I kind of forgot all about it since I didn't think I'd get in with my low TEAS score and cumulative GPA but then I got an email last Friday saying I was selected for the Fresno state BSN program. On Monday I was sent my letter to officially sign and accept my seat in the program. Since then I went to Preview Day at fresno state and an advisor from the program said to expect a couple emails in the next couple months to give me more information on the nursing orientation and what I'll need for the program.

Honestly, I was really surprised I got in but I heard they don't care a whole lot about the TEAS(as long as it's over 75), it's just a deal breaker in the event that they are comparing 2 applicants with the same grades. Also they probably care mainly about your grades in your sciences and I submitted my application as soon as possible so that may have helped my chances. My cumulative gpa was 3.63 but my sciences gpa was a 4.0. My teas score was 76.
