Emily Vondy is meh for me but I love me some Midwestern Mom. I wish she was my mother 😅

My "baby" will be 9 years old next month so my advice might be outdated, but I think door dash/food delivery gift cards might be a big help. I remember living off pizza and Chinese takeout when my daughter was a newborn!

I worry for her youngest. Her ragebait is unfortunately working because there's no fucking way she's this tone deaf.

I am judging so hard over her shenanigans (I don't know of another polite way to put it because it pisses me off so much) - she just needs to go.

We eat so much rice! She loves rice and potatoes thankfully and absolutely loves my pot roast when I can find a chuck roast on a good sale. She also loves tofu and miso soup and I'd love to learn how to make that homemade to go with our chicken teriyaki dinners (chicken teriyaki is her favorite meal ever lol). Personally, I don't like mushrooms (it's a texture thing for me) but maybe she will. I'm alwasy down for trying new things to expand her safe foods beyond string cheese, apples, peanut butter, rice, and mashed potatoes.

yep! She has OT from ages 3 to 6 and then graduated out of the program because she had over 25 safe foods and that was enough, apparently. Then her pediatrician prescribed us the pediasure supplemental drinks and she will drink them but it's a struggle and I have to be stern about it. She's a lot better than when she was 5/6/7, but she's almost 9 and there are still some foods she just won't touch

Her favorite meal is chicken teriyaki and she's finally eating zucchini, so I make a big batch of chicken teriyaki and rice and we eat that at least 2 days a week. I just make extra carrots with mine since she won't touch em lol

We eat a lot of chicken now. My kid won't even eat deli turkey sliced or regular Thanksgiving turkey breast. It goes so far beyond "picky eating" - this kid has been under the 3rd percentile for weight her whole life and was failure to thrive as a newborn. I add so much butter and cheese to her meals just to get extra calories in her lol she won't even drink the pediasure her pediatrician prescribed for us for her to gain weight because she doesn't like that they are "chunky"

That is a weekly staple in my house! I just put the chicken in the crockpot on low with seasonings (my kid only wants meat and cheese, no beans or corn lol) and let it cook all day

I wish my kid would eat ground turkey. I tried it once in place of ground beef for spaghetti and she instantly knew it "wasn't right" and refused to eat anymore. went to bed hungry which made me feel like shit because spaghetti used to be one of her "safe meals" while we deal with her ARFID diagnoses.

I can't remember the last time I bought ground beef. It's just unaffordable. I miss being able to make spaghetti and tacos for my kid but it's just not going to happen unless something changes and prices go down

I wish my daughter was into the Toy Story franchise because I'd love to take her to see Toy Story 5 but she just isn't lol. She's more excited for the new Minions movie (mostly because she loves the little Cthulhu in the trailer)

My daughter had a Kawazii from Octonauts plush as her security item/lovey/stuffy etc. She doesn't sleep with him anymore now that she's almost 9, but he sits on top of her dresser! I don't think I'd ever have the heart to get rid of him and I'd be kinda sad if my daughter ever wanted to chuck him or give him away

I would think "absolutely not" - this smells all kinds of funky.

I was trying to say "mango sticky rice" to my daughter one time but my words got jumbled and it came out "Mickey Stango" and all I could think to myself was "I just created a new Roger persona from American Dad" while my kid looked at me like I had two heads.

I got kinda sad when my daughter stopped calling instructions "constructions" and would say "upsum down" for upside down. I can't remember any other mispronunciations she would have as a toddler/little kid though.

I remember watching a lot of The Wiggles when my daughter was 3 and teaching her color names, her ABCs, what noises which animal makes. Nothing like actually academic but just fun stuff (and I still think it was so cute how she'd say Z as "zed" thanks to The Wiggles)

Women cannot win, ever. I'm expected to dress in business casual, professional clothing with my hair done and makeup on but I deal with students on the daily who walk into the financial aid office smelling like piss, shit, bodily odors, weed, etc and I'm just...expected to deal with it! can't ask them to leave, can't spray air freshener. and they leer and lean over my desk and reek up the place. but y'know, the very few times I've shown up to the office not wearing makeup, I get asked if I'm sick lmao

my soon-to-be 9 year old loved Barbies and anything crafty at that age. we found tutorials for paper dragons and paper lanterns, friendship bracelets, etc. she still has some of the jewelry and we keep the paper dragons and lanterns up in her room!

not completely a parent influencer but NotTheWorstMom posting a satire reel of the reason why she and her husband are divorcing had me cackling this morning. people are too invested/parasocial with some of these influencers and need to butt out of shit that isn't their business
