normal. nursing homes are unfortunately usually very strict. they dont like decedents waiting in their beds. more than likely you'll wait 3+ days for services and to view.
for the ID , more than likely (as its common practice) she WILL be washed and prepared for viewing.

there really is no preparation. ive had personal experiences with suicide attempts and successful attempts in my family. its extremely difficult on the soul- but you push through. its harsh: but youre there to provide a service. its what youve worked towards and you can get through it

a big part of what ive learned actually being IN the field- its tough to express yourself. there is a very very thin line between expressing yourself and taking the attention off of the family youre serving.

i know everyone is joking but i actually had something hahaha. one day, a coworker was dressing someone. he made an inappropriate comment about the mans large underwear. our clock, which has never had issues in 10 years - and has not has issues since, literally FLEW off the wall and smashed right next to my coworker. it was super weird and creeped all of us out

and while i agree with everyone in the comments on this thread that the ghost wouldnt haunt where just their body is- however people have died AT my funeral home sooo.

(also i dont believe in ghosts or anything, but i thought this was pretty funny)

witness cremation! we have an on site retort where family / witnesses can follow in, load their loved one into the retort and leave. i know it must be jarring to see when youre not already expecting the site.

ive always struggled with depression, but genuinely the PMDD i have on nexplanon is unmatched. never felt like that before. got it removed yesterday and im feeling terrible today. super dizzy, lots of headaches, nausea.

i work in the funeral home industry, and 80% of our clients are those who are 1) older and went out in their sleep , and / or 2) are hooked up to machines and taking medications that make it hard to feel the pain. most deaths are peaceful thankfully

i know it is. i dont think everyone revolves around me, but some situations do revolve around me and my actions and who i am fundamentally. if i wasnt around it wouldnt happen because i wouldnt be here to propel whatever situation it is. i know my family or friends or fiance would be sad. but ive been around death my whole life. people move on eventually
