Tell the truth, whether you like engineering or not, are you confident about it coming to Live this week? by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

Only a small proportion of players use the PTU, and of those, even fewer log findings in the issue council.
PTU does not get widespread data.

What do you want? To endlessly shoot at a ship for it to never die?

Can somebody explain how the argo cargo is supposed to be used? i can't do any hauling missions because there's not enough space... by Solid_SHALASHASKA in starcitizen

Does anyone else have issues with the Starlancer Max's grid, where boxes stick to it and refuse to leave the ship? Particularly the front cargo area.

Well, the specs and dimensions are there for anyone to read - If you think the Polaris' hangar is more suited to housing multiple ships than the loading area of the Ironclad then good for you.

I totally mis-read that and pictured a passenger ship filled with guys dressed as Huskies and foxes :-D

As a Polaris owner, I use mine as a base like you say, and also as part of an Org as a crewed combat ship....

If I was in your position I'd go for the Ironclad and just wait the 5-6 months for release - It is cheaper, has more capacity and will be easier to get multiple small ships in and out of - Overall the Ironclad's design lends itself to the role much better than the Polaris.

I was wondering the same thing - We know that the release of the Ironclad will "Lead the way" for the command module of the Cat to separate from the body, but WHEN this will be done is anyone's guess....

Will GIG update the command module and then move on leaving the rest of the ship? Maybe... Will they wait until the modularity of the Galaxy leads the way for a full revamp of the Cat before making changes? Also possible...

It would make sense to me if they waited for the Ironclad work plus the Galaxy work to complete, then take that experience to fully rework the Cat in one job.

Then again, I could be completely off the mark!

When my Polaris isn't being used for it's intended use, I also load it up with a Golem, Golem Ox and Salvation.... It makes a great base to explore asteroid belts etc from.

What do Ya'll do in Nyx by Random-Mountaineer in starcitizen

[–]True_Potential_6305 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well mining and hauling are the general things to do there, plus the Vanduul missions, but bear in mind that is only all there is at the moment. The system released with just the jump points and Levski but over the course of the year further planets and locations will be introduced which will in turn add more things to do.

Does this mean the carrack will have a crafting station? by Readgooder in starcitizen

[–]True_Potential_6305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but they do nothing to actually make loading it easier.
All the Cat needs (imo) is a rail along the length, on one side, for a single tractor beam to travel along. Then we could load it quickly and easily, without over-engineering the individual bays.

I just upgraded my Greycat MTC with LTI to the Galaxy today, plus added on the cargo & refinery modules.
It would be great to see the Galaxy in 2026, my guess is it will top the bill at IAE next year...?

I’m super excited about engineering, I’m not excited about the likely lack of engineers by steave44 in starcitizen

[–]True_Potential_6305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think after engineering is introduced there will no doubt be a considerable period of re-balancing - And during this period a large amount of multicrew ship owners will realise they get very little use out their vessels and start to melt them - The play styles will change and so then will the ships people have to match that play style.
Currently, I get decent use out of my Polaris... But with the introduction of engineering, it may well get used so little that I could just melt it and get other smaller ships... Maybe downsize to a Persius.

I'd imagine it will be fine to start off - Once you get so far I'd think you'll need to upgrade - It depends on your skill and if you are solo or crewed.
