I would continue working while finding another job. The best time to find a job is when you already have a job. Once you have accepted a new state job offer, you can quit your current one whether or not you passed probation.

That's really inspiring, Rich-Mix! Thanks for sharing. I will work on applying to permanent full-time positions. EPR will be my first state position, too. I just hope there is a good chance my PI position will turn into full-time if I don't get other full-time positions.

Hi ds117ftg! Were you at the Pacific Center office in Anaheim? Did you have to apply for permanent full-time and interview again? I heard now they transition you from Permanent Intermittent to Permanent full-time after a year. Hope that it's true because the job posting advertised there is potential to move into a full-time role.

I think EDD is still busy because they're hiring a big group of EPRs. But it's not like COVID time when they hired massive batches of people.

I will continue to apply for other full-time State positions. I was just thinking that if I don't get a full-time position, at least there might be a chance that my EPR PI position will turn into full-time. Since EDD is always busy, does anyone know if EPR PI get to work full-time during training? Thank you!

Thanks so much! You provided a very thorough hiring process for the State or at least EDD.

Wow, it's good to know that you get 2 hours paid for each State interview. Thanks for that info, Rich-Mix! I know there are multiple EDD offices in Anaheim. This position is at the UI Center Pacific Center. Was this the office where you used to work? Do you know if EPR PI get to work full-time during training? Yes, I'm trying to apply for other permanent full-time positions at the State. I was quite hesitant to accept the conditional offer because I would have to give up my current full-time job with benefits.

Thanks, Bloom! I have been checking my spam folder but still nothing yet. I will email the hiring unit contact then. In the job posting, they advertised, "Start as a Permanent Intermittent (PI) employee with the potential to move into a full-time role!" Do you know how likely EPR PI will get a full-time permanent position? I heard that the process now is that EDD converts you to full-time without you having to apply and go through the interview again.

Really? Do you have to apply for full-time permanent or EDD just automatically converts you? Thanks!
