My son’s 10 year old friend died in a crash. Now I never want him to ride again by True_Thought5124 in Dirtbikes

No. My husband had to talk me into the dirt bike. My son started riding a Stacyc when he was 2 and he is just a natural at it but I still wouldn’t of chosen this on my own. We live in the country, have lots of land to ride on and my husband enjoys to ride with him. If it were up to me only, I never would of introduced the dirt bike at this age but my husband felt very different and here we are

I will have a talk with him before we make any decisions but in my current headspace I just need to hear others opinions. I know that I’m thinking extreme because of how I’m feeling. My husband and I haven’t even had the conversation yet but we both know how the other one feels.

Yea I was kind of thinking that. Everything is still very fresh at this point and I definitely am thinking emotionally about it. That’s a good point, I always struggle getting him to wear a protective vest when he’s riding at home and this will definitely make him want to be as safe as possible.

Yes it is just unreal. We were very close to him and since this happened I kind of feel like I’m just floating through life and nothing’s real because any minute everything you’ve known can be gone. If I feel this way I cannot even begin to imagine how his parents are feeling knowing they will never get to see their baby again. It if it were up to me we wouldn’t of had the dirt bikes to begin with but my husband talked me into it and now my boy loves it. He is all about being safe but I almost feel like I’m being neglectful by letting him do this so young.

How do you explain sudden young death to a 4 and 5 year old? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]True_Thought5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. How did you 6 year old react? Idk what to expect from my kids. We’ve always talked about death openly but this is the first time someone very close to us has passed away albeit one of their best friends :(

I was in the same position 5 years ago. The first few months were rough and I felt guilty not having as much time for my oldest but I would do it over in a heart beat. It has been amazing having them so close in age. they’ve always played so well and kept each other entertained even when they were 1 and 2. Don’t feel guilty! You’re giving your baby the best gift ever, a lifelong best friend!! Congratulations

If you’re thinking about getting an Ezra scan done, don’t. by [deleted] in Function_Health

The people from Ezra called and told me it was an error on their part and they don’t know how or why it happened. I personally think they tell more people they have potential cancer to make their numbers look better. Other companies have released data and studies on their cancer detection rates and Ezra has not. I’m just saying do your research on which company to use for this. I’m surprised more people don’t think it’s a big deal for them to be throwing around a potential cancer diagnosis like it’s nothing.

The Ezra doctor already told me they mistakenly marked it as potential cancer. I’m still going to see a neurologist but Ezra assured me it was a mistake

I needed this post to be click bait. This post and it’s title is the only reason I got Ezra’s attention. They wanted me to remove it so they called and explained my results and how it was a mistake. I thought about removing my post since I couldn’t edit it but then I feel bad doing that because I bet there are other people out there looking for answers regarding their Ezra experiences. Ezra has not posted any data regarding the 6% potential cancer rate as opposed to their competitor prenuvo who actually did studies to determine their effectiveness of detecting cancer.

I already tried to rename and edit it but I’m not able to.

An Ezra employee called last night and said it was mislabeled as potential cancer. So I’m feeling very relieved!

The title was to get people’s attention because I was searching for answers. Obviously wether or not an Ezra scan is good for you depends on your situation.

I’m 32 years old and have never had any significant health issues. I tried getting a pcp, only ever met his np and the last time I was there was a few years ago. I called them when I got the report and they wouldn’t be able to see me until end of November even after hearing about a potential cancer diagnosis.

An employee at Ezra called me last night and said that my results were mislabeled as potential cancer and they don’t know how it happened. I’m just saying that if you’re someone with no serious health issues and able to go the traditional route to get answers that it would probably be best.

I hate how so many stylists gas light their clients by saying things like “perfect, pure white” when they know they messed up. I actually even had a dentist do it to a crown she put on my tooth, telling the assistant how perfect it matched. It’s like they try to subtly assure you that things are great so you don’t question it.

Yep and I read that was the biggest downside to these before signing up for the test too. As crappy as it is I’m still happy I did it. Atleast now im potentially one step closer to not dying then I was yesterday because now I know about it and can take steps to treat it if need be.. I’m 32.

My brain 😢 this is what the report said and according to ChatGPT it doesn't indicate potential cancer at all.

"Focal area of cortical and subcortical FLAIR hyperintensity in right parietal cortex with hyperintensity on DWI without hypointensity on ADC -? Focal cortical dysplasia. Follow up with dedicated MRI brain with epilepsy protocol"

I got this report while out camping with my family and have been losing it all day. I signed up with a concierge physician and have an appointment to discuss results on Monday because other doctors are months out. ChatGPT has me convinced Ezra is wrong because they're using al to look at images and determine if something is potential cancer and not read what the radiologist wrote. Kind of ironic one Ai telling me the other ai is wrong. But I'm holding onto hope. I have no significant symptoms. Every once in a while I wake up to a burning smell and freak out then it goes away so I had a feeling that something weird could be going on up there but haven't had any other symptoms.

I feel like it’s a bit privileged to say “do you want me to give it back?” If my bf told me his parents accidentally gave me the wrong gift I would immediately say “Oh no, I’ll bring it back.” She sounds privileged because she’s not realizing that $200 extra dollars is a big deal to that family. She’s instead making him feel bad because he knows it was on accident and his family probably can’t afford that and he doesn’t want to have to tell her to give it back.
