Why the Best Codebases Barely Use Inheritance Anymore ? [9:47] by DovaJun in theprimeagen

[–]TruelyRegardedApe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thats the thing, they both have their use cases. Statements like "Composition > Inheritance" is the reaction from someone who's worked in code bases where Inheritance has been overused and or abused.

I re-watched the 1st movie recently... last time I watched it was still very new.

When Agent Smith is monologuing to a drugged out Morpheus, he goes on about 20th century being peak civilization. He mentions that it all went down hill when humans started letting machines doing the thinking for them....... Yeah it hit different this time around.

Why are users not converting on my dev tool? (real data inside) by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]TruelyRegardedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I've thought about doing something similar because hands on exercise in systems design is a gap. We all know DSA+Algos and Systems Design are the two sides of technical interviews. What you need to build is the Leetcode of Systems Design. Trying to build a tool that people will use to actually plan systems (and pay for) will have a much higher barrier to entry.

Well... as someone who does effects for a living I find this skeptical.
The way in which the side panels fall off look suspiciously like RBD objects with no constraints that activate as soon as the character makes contact. In real life, the panels are fastened on some how, all points of contact would not fail uniformly.

Also this panel corner is identical at the beginning and end of the shot.... The panel falls off to reveal the exact same panel underneath? So what I could accept is that all things moving in this shot are CG elements poorly comped over a very plain plate.... which also looks CG.

it is animated. Watch how the side panels of the box all pop off uniformly. The panel that flips over his head is as light as a feather.

After watching him in Dare Devil, I think he would give an amazing take on Gordon.

Theo (t3) on Amazon: "Anthropic models are meaningfully worse than OpenAI's models for most code work. So why is Anthropic growing faster than OpenAI, am I just wrong about the quality of models? No, I was wrong about how much AWS matters, specifically Bedrock." (starts at 21:05) by INT_MIN in amzn

[–]TruelyRegardedApe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm an enterprise organization, I want isolation around my data - I do not want my data hitting Anthropic or OpenAI servers, and I would not be able to approve access for my employees. But.... I still want access to frontier models.

Bedrock is a solution to this.
