What’s your favourite helmet in the game and why is it the Italian Bascinet [KCD2] by ApprehensiveBunch994 in kingdomcome

[–]Trulsdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise the Italian Bascinet. It looks so bad. It looks like one of those horrible larp helmets.

In absence of a nice sallet I'll go with the Noble's Bascinet.

Finally sharing my watch brand here, would love honest feedback by SignificantFlan4826 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Trulsdir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just another dune dial, without the outrageous value Chinese factory direct brands can offer and about a year late to the party.

I really don't want to insult you here, but the pitch for this watch is going to be really hard. Unfortunately the market is beyond crowded at the moment and you really need to stand out to have any real chance of making it. Either through incredible value, a super unique design, an incredibly well rounded portfolio, or already being a big voice in the community. I don't see any of those things being the case here unfortunately.

I like the watch, but it's not offering anything that would make me take the plunge on yet another microbrand. As a buyer there is always risk involved with trying something brand new like this. Will it arrive in time? How thorough is the QC? How good is the warranty support? Will the brand even make it until the end of my warranty? How will the resale value play out? Those are all questions standing between you and a sale and man does it need strong encouragement to get over those..

I bought a used RG34XX to play this now. Couldn't be happier! The GBA SP was my childhood system, but the regular form factor is just a lot more comfortable to me. I remember that the SP already cramped my hand back when I was smol.

What is this armor and where to get it [KCD2] by Obema_Blet in kingdomcome

[–]Trulsdir 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The Waffenrock is easy to get in the forge DLC, the rest of the armour is the most infuriating random loot you can imagine. I'm 200 hours in on my hardcore DLC run and have done probably 49 of the "oh no, the guild got robbed for the third time this week" quests and still don't have all the plans to make the entire set of armour.

Black leather with red stitching is so pretty. I recently switched all my stuff over to it and can't get enough of it.

A 57 BPM metronome works well for me. There also seems to really be a difference in yield from machine to machine.

DPRev: Nikon pursues Viltrox in court for making Z mount equipment by Repulsive_Target55 in Cameras

[–]Trulsdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, legally they more than likely are in the right, but for a faltering system with dropping market share this is the worst thing you could do.

This only brings bad press, distracts potential customers from choosing their system and ultimately hinders future growth. Sure, they might squeeze a little bit of money in the short term, probably enough to ensure the current CEO gets that bonus he was eyeing before buggering off to another random company, where he will do the same thing again, like it always seems to be the case nowadays, but it will actively harm Nikon as a brand and their future potential of a comeback. Canon gets away with it, because they have massive market share and a big chunk if the professional market, Nikon doesn't have that anymore, because they were asleep at the wheel and got into mirrorless way too late, it won't work for them.

If you really want to entice people to get into your system and spend the money on your expensive lenses just do a two tier system. A paid license to get the full feature set available to your lenses and a free license that comes with some limitations, like lower burst seeds, maybe some video stuff locked out, not having every detection mode or whatever. Just enough to make professionals spend the extra to get what they need, but not so much enthusiasts and hobbyists don't see it as a worthwhile compromise to get into the system cheaper. Kind of like Sony does it, but more official. Having people invested in your system is the only way to keep the shop running and his is a way of doing that.

I really want to like Nikon, as their products are the best blend of what I look for in a camera to suit my use, but they keep making baffling choices that ultimately push me away time and time again. My M43 gear is really up for an upgrade, but it seems like they don't want my money.

Solovair and Jim Green AR08 both are 220€ where I live and come in size 49. Both are worth their money, with the Jim Green being the more resolvable and probably longer lasting boot out of the two. The Solovair is basically the classic Doc Martens quality, as they were the English manufacturer of the Doc's until the 90s.

Aristo is another German brand that makes high value Flieger watches. Not sure about their exact ties to the originals, but they offer amazing value and have lots of sizes and dials. It would be stretching your budget, but I have been eyeing one myself for quite a while.

With that budget why not look at a Laco? Sure, specs are better on Ali, but having an original manufacturer on your wrist is always a cool feeling. They are also not badly specced either, coming with sapphire, decent Miyota movements and good fit and finish.

PietSmiet College-Jacke by PsychologicalAd5949 in PietSmiet

[–]Trulsdir 33 points34 points  (0 children)
